The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is an independent, not-for-profit organization in the United States. It acts as a collaborative body for state boards of nursing, facilitating communication and action on public health and safety matters. NCSBN is responsible for developing and administering the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for nurse licensure. Additionally, the organization conducts research to inform evidence-based regulatory practices for patient protection.[1][2] The NCBSN's membership includes 59 nursing regulatory bodies in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia, and four U.S. territories.[3]
