edit

The Fletcher Mall portion of the property was sold to Cervidae in April 2021.[3]

Facilities

edit

There are three free car parks located within the main shopping area. The main shopping area has public toilets, Tesco also has some toilets located near the customer services desk.

edit

Retailers currently occupying units with the centre are Boots, Iceland, Poundland, Shoe Zone, Superdrug, Aldi, Greggs, Costa Coffee, Specsavers, Pets at Home, Cex, O2, Age UK Charity Shop and Sally Health&Beauty

Tesco Extra are the anchor tenant of the shopping centre located on the Bradgate Mall and features Tesco Phone Shop and Tesco Opticians.

Beaumont Market

edit

The centre has an outdoor market area which opened in 1984.[4] The market is open from Wednesday to Sunday. The main area is under cover and has over 60 stalls with a wide range of products on sale such as fruit and vegetables, games and DVDs, household items and general bric-a-brac stall. There is also usually a butchers van.

A car boot sale for used goods was held in the car park located next to the market area on Sundays between March and November although it was ceased as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.[4]

Other

edit

Both Matalan and Buzz Bingo are located across the road but neither is officially part of Beaumont Shopping Centre.[5]

Public transport

edit

Beaumont Shopping Centre has a purpose-built bus terminus that has seven stands served by a number of buses which run into and around the outskirts of Leicester.

Centrebus provide services UHL (Hospital Hopper), Orbital 40 and route 154.

First Leicester provide services: 14A, 25, 26, 54 and 74 which all opetate into Leicester City Centre.

Defunct services - These services no longer run to and or via the bus terminal, these being Centrebus routes 54A (Goodwood to Anstey Via City Centre) and the 55 (City Centre to Thurcaston) due to these routes being suspended. Passengers should note that information about these changes have been posted at the terminal.

A new Park and Ride (P&R) hub is due to be developed on land north of the shopping centre with construction planned for late 2024. However the development of this is uncertain as original plans proposed in 2021 for a P&R and a bus lane corridor connecting the bus terminus and the neighbouring village of Anstey failed to come to fruition.
