Anna Prodromou (born 26 June 1972) is a Cypriot communications & DEI consultant, speaker and trainer. She is also the founder of the WICZ+ Foundation which is a transformative evolution of the Women in Conflict Zones[1] Initiative. The WICZ initiative has been dedicated to promoting women's rights and enhancing civic participation in Cyprus. Building upon this remarkable foundation, the WICZ+ Foundation now endeavors to extend its empowering efforts to encompass other marginalized and disenfranchised communities. These include individuals from the LGBTQI+ community, persons with disabilities, and those belonging to migrant and asylum-seeker communities. By expanding its scope, the WICZ+ Foundation strives to foster inclusivity, advocate for equality, and engender positive societal change across diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Early life
editProdromou was born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus. Both of her parents are of Cypriot origin, and her mother lives in Nicosia. Her father died in 2010.[citation needed]
She holds a degree in French language and literature from the University of Cyprus[2] and an MSc in communication and journalism from Open University of Cyprus.[3]
Career
editShe has worked as a project manager on several NGO projects, one of which received a Stelios Haji-Ioannou Award in 2011.[4] She has worked since 2012 as a local news producer for the German television network ZDF.[5] After leaving Cyprus, she lived in Athens, Greece, and New Canaan, Connecticut, US. She is the founder of the organization Women in Conflict Zones (WICZ), which concerns women's civic participation and contribution to civil society.[1] She was also a co-founder of Faros Association, a non-profit organization formed to support AIDS and H.I.V. positive persons and their families. Prodromou is an executive committee member of Join2Media,[6] Her volunteer work has included Faros Association (CY), UCYVoice (CY)[7] and Person to Person, P2P (USA).[8] Prodromou is also the Culture First Cyprus chapter lead.[9]
Prodromou was featured as an Expert in the ‘She Experts’[10] initiative of the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS),[11] She was awarded the 12th Cyprus “Businesswoman of the Year” in 2018[12] and the Forbes Magazine “Cyprus Women in Tech” Award in 2023. Her book "Women in Conflict Zones" was published[13] in January 2019 and launched[14] in April 2019.
