French sportspeople stubs templatesEdit

Hello. I notice that France-archery-bio-stub and France-badminton-bio-stub are in Category:French sportspeople stubs but already have subcategories. These subcategories are Category:French archery biography stubs and Category:French badminton biography stubs. I was wondering why these templates are in the sportspeople stub category while they already have a subcategory. Thanks! --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 20:46, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Fixed, with these edits. It appears that Lugnuts (talk · contribs) wasn't careful how they carried out this edit and this one. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:47, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi. I copied the stub type from an existing country template for those sports. Therefore, there must be others with the same (original) mistake. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:37, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
@Lugnuts: Do you recall which you copied from? I doubt that they had "French sportspeople stubs" in addition to "French (sport) biography stubs". --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:07, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry, no idea - it was about a year ago. Probably one of the other European stub-cats from the same sport, so it would have been "foo sportspeople stubs", etc. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:10, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

South African soccer stub categoriesEdit

Hi. I created Category:South African soccer defender stubs, Category:South African soccer midfielder stubs‎ and Category:South African soccer forward stubs a few months back but without coming through here first (sorry!). Would anyone mind sorting these out for me? Microwave Anarchist (talk) 17:32, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi there - I see that you followed suit by naming the category like the other categories in this hierarchy, Category:South African soccer biography stubs, etc. There's been some discussion in the past over the use of "football (soccer)" or just soccer, so I will leave the naming discussion up to others more familiar with the issues. Otherwise, they look properly formed and populated. Her Pegship (?) 19:51, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

TipsEdit

Hello. Do you guys have a tips page/training guide somewhere for someone adding stubs to articles? Max number of stubs per article? Most common categories? Most common stub mistakes? Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 22:58, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

There is, in theory, no limit to the number of stub tags which may be placed on an article. But they need to be relevant: if you go beyond two or three, it's likely that the relevance of some of them will be low, and those should be omitted. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:18, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
I recommend the guidelines mentioned in Wikipedia:Stub, and if you have further questions, come on back here. Her Pegship (?) 03:31, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Open taskEdit

A stub category should be split manually, after this discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:09, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

I'm on it. Her Pegship (?) 22:31, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Days / Observances / ??Edit

What stub type would International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day fit? Not a {{festival-stub}} nor a {{tradition-stub}} nor a {{holiday-stub}}, and we don't have a {{day-stub}} or an {{observance-stub}}. I've come across this before, for named days which are not celebratory but are commemorative or awareness-raising, and are not an actual holiday, nor long-enough established to feel like a "tradition". I see Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup Day has {{festival-stub}} and World Keratoconus Day has {{tradition-stub}} while UN French Language Day has {{holiday-stub}}, none of which seem particularly appropriate. I'm all for {{observance-stub}}, myself, as some observances last longer than a day. Her Pegship (?) 20:17, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Template:Veganism-and-Vegetarianism-stubEdit

I've found Template:Veganism-and-Vegetarianism-stub, which was created at 20:27, 21 February 2021 (UTC) by Throughthemind (talk · contribs) without (so far as I can tell) first being proposed at WP:WSS/P. It uses |category=Stub-Class Veganism and Vegetarianism articles which is a misuse of that parameter. My problem is that I can't work out what a suitable category should be. Any ideas? Or maybe we should simply WP:TFD the template since it is used on only one article. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:51, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

I think making both Template:Veganism-stub and Template:Vegetarianism-stub would work. I agree that the template should be deleted though. Old Man Consequences (talk) 10:33, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
