Good news, everyone! edit

Some months ago, a huge number of Argentine photos from 1971 and onwards were being deleted from Commons because of the URAA (and many articles related to the islands used some of those photos). The consensus has now changed, and now it was decided that "URAA cannot be used as the sole reason for deletion. Deleted files can be restored after a discussion in COM:UDR. Potentially URAA-affected files should be tagged with {{Not-PD-US-URAA}}." See here Cambalachero (talk) 16:44, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

It could be excellent news, however, I have lost all confidence in Commons to be honest. Sorry, Wee Curry Monster talk 16:58, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool edit

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Naming edit

Do we have a convention for referring to the islands in articles? For example, Chimango caracara is found on the Islas Malvinas also known as Falkland Islands. Is there a guideline along the lines of WP:DERRY to use such politically-correct language, or can it safely be changed to Falkland Islands as used in the linked article's title? Certes (talk) 11:00, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

WP:NCFALKLAND, I see that someone has changed the word order but really there shouldn't be any need to mention Islas Malvinas here. WCMemail 07:40, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
