County templates edit

We need to come up with a consistent scheme for county templates. For example, on a county's article, does the New Jersey template or the County's Template go first? Bergen is before NJ on Bergen County, New Jersey, but New Jersey is before Somerset on Somerset County, New Jersey.

I think I like county first, state later, but I'm not sure... ideas? //MrD9 07:39, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use on templates edit

I have just gone through and removed fair use images from a number of New Jersey county templates ([1],[2],[3], etc.). Please note that the use of fair use tagged images outside of the main article namespace is proscribed by Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. This prevents the use of such images on templates such as these. Please do not re-insert the various seals/logos of the counties back into the templates. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Please contact me at my talk page. Thanks, --Durin 20:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, these are templates that are to be used in the main namespace. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 03:36, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Because templates can and are used outside of the main article namespace. Wikipedia draws a clear and easy to understand line to aid in management of fair use abuses; "No fair use outside of main article namespace". If the seal is important to the article, then it should already been on the article. It does not need to be on a template, where it is there purely for decorative purpose anyway (which is not a valid fair use claim). --Durin 20:46, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
