since mine

i've been having problems with the 'since mine' function not appearing in the toolbox. using firefox, i did all the usual stuff: unload and reload the script, refresh the browser, restart the browser, but no change...is anyone else having this? --emerson7 00:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

never mind...if figured it out myself. <sarcasm>...thanks for all the help guys!!! </sarcasm> --emerson7 02:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Question

I just started using Twinkle. I looked at the documentation but I didn't see the part where it talks about customizing Twinkle. Is there a way I can customize what messages Twinkle leaves? I don't want it adding on a "shared IP" note sometimes. Enigma msg! 07:26, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

also, unlink isn't in the documentation. Enigma msg! 07:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle only uses the user warning templates and the messages as such cannot be customised. You can set showSharedIPNotice option so that it never shows such a message, but there is no finer control over the messages. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 15:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

ok, thanks. Enigma msg! 17:12, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Second question

Is there any way to not have certain pages watchlisted? This is more of a general question than a Twinkle question, but every time I report a vandal, WP:AIV gets added to my watchlist and then I have to unwatch it. I like to keep my preferences that every page I edit gets added to my watchlist, but I don't want high traffic pages like AIV on it. Enigma msg! 20:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

any help? Enigma msg! 19:45, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

warning of whitelisted users

I've noticed that if you rollback an edit by a whitelisted user as vandalism, it will assume that the intent is to rollback the prior edits, which is great, because I find a lot of the vandalism on talk pages has been signed by User:SineBot; however, it then opens a page to warn the whitelisted user, rather than the real vandal. Couldn't it open the talk page of the user it rollsback, rather than the whitelisted user? I've accidentally warned SineBot at least once, most of the time I catch it now, but then I have to close SineBot's talk page, go back to the location of the vandalism and go back to the edit history if I want to warn, which is slower than doing the whole thing manually, except for the ability to rollback through SineBot's edit. Thanks.--Doug.(talk contribs) 20:30, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I also notice that it generates an edit summary stating that Reverting edit by User:SineBot identified as vandalism or words to that effect. Seems like if it knows who to really rollback, it could report it as such.--Doug.(talk contribs) 00:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Help with config?

I am so sorry to bug y'all but I cannot seem to get Twinkle to behave the way I'd like...I'm trying to get it to stop putting everything on my watchlist that I revert or warn. It appears from the config page that I just had to put [], in watch reverted pages and change watch warnings to false? Help? THANK YOU! Here's what I've done to it:

Do you have a space between the brackets? That's the only thing I can think of. Enigma msg! 21:26, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Good suggestion, but that doesn't do it either. I tried it both with a single space and with the brackets all squished together...not a huge deal, I just have to remember to "unwatch" before I close the windows. Legotech·(t)·(c) 00:42, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Not a bug, just a spelling error

When leaving a message on user talk pages regarding sockpuppetry, the edit summary mentions "sockpuppertering". Is that a word? Should it be "sockpuppeteering"? -- Roleplayer (talk) 21:39, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle Not Working

Question for anyone that can help. I have Twinkle installed on this account, and it works just fine. However, I just created a new account in hopes of using Twinkle to patrol with just the second account, but can't get it to work. Is there a minimum amount of edits you have to have, or anything like that? I'm stumped as to why it would work on this account, but not the other, with everything being the same... Thanks for the help! -- JTHolla! 21:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

I believe it won't work on a new account. Like a good wine or cheese, an account needs to properly age before TW will work on it. SchuminWeb (Talk) 23:30, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Ugh. That sucks. -- JTHolla! 00:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
If it needs to be autoconfirmed, you should be able to use it after 4days from the date of creation.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 00:30, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Ah...alright. Thanks! -- JTHolla! 00:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

SharedIP notice

I'm having trouble finding the source of the sharedIP notice Twinkle inserts when used to warn unregistered (IP-only) editors. It doesn't seem to be amongst the user talk templates. Can someone direct me to it, please? I'd like to look into possibly editing it slightly for more appropriate adjective selection. Thanks. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 20:05, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't think there is a template for this - I've looked before and failed to find anything. It looks like it is inserted by the script at User:AzaToth/twinklewarn.js near the bottom of the page. --Snigbrook (talk) 02:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle stopped working?

Twinkle appears to have stopped working for me since a few days ago. Whenever I try to Rollback an edit, I get "Reverting page: couldn't grab element "editform", aborting, this could indicate failed respons from the server". Why does this happen? I'm on Mac OS X with Firefox 3b4, but I also tried Safari with the same problem. This is the error message I get in my JavaScript Console:

Error: undefined entity

The 'undefined entity' is the " ". This is caused by Firefox 3b4 for some reason; Firefox 3b3 is fine, though. Gary King (talk) 17:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I get the same thing with Windows FF 3b2. I've reverted back to FF 2. --NeilN talkcontribs 00:43, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
  • I too have same problems. I used Firefox 3b2 and updated as 3b4 few days ago. But since then, twinkle stopped working. I tried to work on article by using TW but it shows nothing but only this statement
    Article modification: data loaded...

Info: Checking for preexisting tags on the article

Then stopped working. How can I rectify this?--NAHID 19:19, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Refer to Bugzilla@Mozilla The latest trunk release of Firefox 3 Beta 5 (download from FTP here) only fixes the first tagging process. It does not notify the original contributor on their talk page. Note usage of beta software, but developers of TW should look into the issue to see if they can get a viable workaround. - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 20:17, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Problem, or is it a feature?

Tried converting to TW from one of VoA's scripts but I don't like what it did to my watchlist. How can I remove it (I took it out of my monobook.js and that did nothing). Is there a way to make it only add tabs and not change the rest of the interface? if not how do I remove it entirely? Adam McCormick (talk) 22:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Did you try clearing your cache and purging the page after you did that?--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 23:13, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I even went so far as to open my account on another browser and the changes are still there Adam McCormick (talk) 23:15, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm...then I'm stumped.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 00:11, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks just the same, can someone else tell me what i did wrong? Adam McCormick (talk) 00:30, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
OK, I located the problem it wasn't TW but a setting, so no worries. Adam McCormick (talk) 04:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Well I'm glad you found your answer. (Disclaimer: This user cannot use TW even if he wanted to)--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 04:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

CSD A7

Is there any particular reason that when selecting A7 from the list of speedy deletion criteria, Twinkle puts db-bio on the page instead of db-a7? Steve TC 13:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Promptly sorted out, I note. Ta, Steve TC 14:25, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Disable the "SharedIPNotice"

Looking at the contribution histories of users who are using this tool, it appears that most are using the tool with showSharedIPNotice set to true. This is resulting in very frequent and repeated notices on vandal talk pages that "If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices."

That's a very friendly piece of advice and an appropriate thing to add to an anonymous user's page. But only one time. Adding it after every vandalism warning adds nothing to the discussion but does clog up the page. The repeated indents make it more difficult for future editors to review the list of warnings when trying to decide, for example, whether to escalate the warning or to impose a block.

In my experience, the majority of anonymous pages already have a shared IP template of some sort on the page. Adding it as part of the TWINKLE process is unnecessary. Please disable that part of the feature. Or, if it can't be disabled, at least move the comment to a single place at the top of the page rather than duplicating it with every edit. Thanks. Rossami (talk) 19:47, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

It can be turned off. I turned it off, for example. My issue is that I think it should be off by default. Like most things, the vast majority of people just use the default settings. Enigma msg! 20:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Having Twinkle issues today

I dunno if anyone can help from what I'm saying, but I tried twice to warn someone with Twinkle, and the changes never showed up. I haven't changed browsers or my monobook today. This was the vandal I was trying to warn. I tried twice to warn with Twinkle, and the edits never went through. I then had to manually insert a warning template because of this. I put an AfD on an article and it set up the AfD and warned the user...but didn't put the call on the article page itself...was I missing something? Thanks! LegoTech·(t)·(c) 16:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Possible Twinkle abuse?

Earthtried1985 (talk · contribs) seems to be a suspicious user, given that their first edit was installing Twinkle and spamming AfD with no fewer than six listings in two minutes. Given that this is the exact same M.O. as Basegirlball (talk · contribs) and Happygilmoron (talk · contribs), I believe that Earthtried1985 is a sock of indef-blocked Storyrates1987 (talk · contribs). Possible Twinkle Abuse by User:Diligent Terrier

Diligent Terrier (talk · contribs) appears to be misusing the script. Ive left several messages on his talk page, which he somewhat avoided, and eventually archives, i was not satisfied with his response, so ive brought the issue here. Here is a direct extract from the messages i sent to him;

    • According to WP:TWINKLE, the script is to be used to assist them [wikipedia users] in common Wikipedia maintenance tasks and to help them deal with acts of vandalism, I fail to see how this, this, or this falls into maintenance or vandalism. To say that reverting a highly respected administrator, without any prior discussion, is any form of maintenance is downright wrong. I think you owe OIC, at the least, an apology. Twenty Years 17:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Upon further inspection of your use of twinkle, i have found this diff by User:76.98.204.203, which you claim is Blaitant vandalism. It is hardly vandalism, the edit certainly did not add anything to the article, but that doesnt constitute vandalism. Not only did you incorrectly label their contribution, but you placed two user-warning tags on their talk page, when theyve only ever made one edit to wikipedia [1]. Continued mis-use of the twinkle script may result in you being "de-twinkled". Thanks. Twenty Years 08:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Further investigation of your reverts on wikipedia, led me to this this, whereby you reverted a user who removed a warning by a user and added content to his talk page. According to WP:TALK, this user is free to delete comments from his talk page:
      • Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages, though archiving is preferred. They may also remove some content in archiving. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user.
    • You not only reverted his edit to his own talk page, but you then went ahead and added a user warning template, which according to the above, is downright wrong. It may be worth noting that after your warning on his talk page, he never returned, wikipedia relies on volunteers, and new editors should be made more than welcome, rather than being treated like he has. May i suggest that you remove the warning on his talk page and apologise. Your poor use of editing scripts is causing much concern to me, and some administrators, and you may wish to review your use. Thanks. Twenty Years 08:45, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Id like an experienced administrator to have a look at the issues here. Thanks. Twenty Years 17:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Absurd! If DT is abusing TW, then so are half the wikipedians out there. Kimu 18:18, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

This is not a forum to report eventual abuse, please redirect your statements to WP:ANI AzaToth 18:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Right. Besides, one cannot be "de-twinkled" for abuse of the Twinkle tool. However, as AzaToth has already pointed out, there are other remedies for rogue editors, whether they use TW or not. SchuminWeb (Talk) 18:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Twenty Years has had it in for me ever since our disagreements regarding a WikiProject. After that he has been closely monitoring my edits (which he has admitted), and looking for something wrong with them. I use Twinkle to revert vandalism very often, and if people decide to disable my use of it, I will not participate in serious vandalism reversion ever again. Also, I did respond to those comments made. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:12, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
It is also unfair for Twenty Years to say I archived his comments because I didn't. In fact, he did not even let me know that he was posting this here. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Furthermore, I have notified Twenty Years about his own habit of being uncivil and not assuming good faith, and he has chosen to ignore me, saying that he will not respond. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Question from Mr. Clueless

Is there a way I can disable the automatic adding of pages to my watchlist? The Dominator (talk) 22:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Click the My Preferences tab, then select Watchlist and check/uncheck as desired. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 23:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
You can read TW's documentation at Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Twinkle/doc#Configuration. Or, simply put, add the following to your monobook.js file (where you installed Twinkle, which you must do manually and not using the "Preferences" tab) and it should fix the problem for you:
TwinkleConfig = {
       watchSpeedyPages                :       [],
       watchProdPages                  :       false,
       watchRevertedPages              :       [],
};

If you do this, no pages should be added automatically (I believe). (EhJJ)TALK 23:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I did and it's still not working for me, this is what I have exactly:
importScript('User:AzaToth/twinkle.js');
TwinkleConfig = {
       watchSpeedyPages                :       [],
       watchProdPages                  :       false,

       watchWarnings                   :       false,
};

Reverts using Twinkle

Are reversions using Twinkle's "restore this version" button an implied accusation of "vandalism". I occasionally restore previous versions, reversing edits of experienced editors, putting in the edit summary my reasons. On a few occasions, I have been accused of calling them a vandal, not because I used the word, but because using Twinkle's restore button is a de facto accusation of vandalism. If I'm going to accuse someone of vandalism, I'll use the vandalism button. I'm kind of confused. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 19:18, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I looked at your more recent edit summaries, and you're doing just fine. Some people are just really touchy, and overreact. You keep doing what you're doing. I'm of the same school of thought as you - if it's vandalism, use the vandalism button, and always use a summary otherwise. SchuminWeb (Talk) 23:28, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello everyone! I've started using Twinkle for the past 2 days but I've realised that everytime I edit a page (i.e. rollback), the page gets added in my watchlist. This is very annoying and I don't know whats wrong. Please note that the 'Add pages I edit to my watchlist' title in 'My preferences' is unchecked. By the way I've tested on both Mozilla Firefox (v2.0.0.14) and Opera (v9.25) and it's the same. Could it be a bug? Please advice. Thanks. S3000 ☎ 16:25, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Known issue. It's always been this way, I think. You might be able to add something to your monobook file that will help. Enigma message 16:46, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Check Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Twinkle/doc to see how to set what types of pages Twinkle watchlists.--Fabrictramp (talk) 16:49, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Go to your preferences and click on the Watchlist tab. Uncheck the box that says Add pages I create to my watchlist, click Save, and press Ctrl-F5 if you are using Internet Explorer or press Ctrl-Shift-R if you are using Firefox. I noticed this helped fix the problem along with configuring my Monobook with the "false" command for adding watchlisted pages.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 16:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Whoops I noticed you said you have "Add pages I edit to my watchlist" unchecked, oh well. This should still helped if you missed unchecking the box I mentioned.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 16:57, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for all your inputs! By the way I managed to solve the problem by visiting the Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Twinkle/doc page as suggested by Fabrictramp.

To make it easier for others who are facing the same problem, just copy and paste the following in your monobook.js file just below your original Twinkle code;

TwinkleConfig = {
	revertMaxRevisions 	 	: 	50,
	userTalkPageMode		:	'window',
	showSharedIPNotice		:	true,
	openTalkPage			:	[ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand' ],
	openTalkPageOnAutoRevert	:	false,
	summaryAd			:	" using TW",
	deletionSummaryAd		:	" using TW",
	protectionSummaryAd		:	" using TW",
	watchSpeedyPages		:	[ 'g3', 'g5', 'g10', 'g11', 'g12' ],
	watchProdPages			:	true,
	openUserTalkPageOnSpeedyDelete	:	[ 'g1', 'g2', 'g10', 'g11', 'g12', 'a1', 'a7', 'i3', 'i4', 'i5', 'i6', 'i7', 'u3', 't1' ],
	watchRevertedPages		:	[],
	markRevertedPagesAsMinor	:	[ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand', 'torev' ],
	deleteTalkPageOnDelete		:	false,
  	watchWarnings 	 		: 	false,
  	markAIVReportAsMinor  		: 	true,
	markSpeedyPagesAsMinor		:	true,
	offerReasonOnNormalRevert	:	true,
	orphanBacklinksOnSpeedyDelete	:	{orphan:true, exclude:['g6']}
};

Once that's done, restart your browser (i.e. exit and reopen) and you'll find that it no longer adds pages you've reverted and users you've warned to your watchlist. This should do the trick! Thanks! S3000 ☎ 10:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

typo in AfD filing

It says "adding to 'todays list'" instead of 'today's list'. Enigma message 21:24, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle doesn't appear in "my preferences"

I selected Twinkle in my Preferences::Gadgets section just fine about 8 hours ago and was using it quite well. Now it has stopped working and when i go back to Gadgets it isn't there for me to select. Any hints?KevinCuddeback (talk) 22:05, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Was removed from gadgets today after Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Vandal making use of Twinkle. —AlexSm 22:40, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Same problem. I'll try waiting and see if it helps. Bob the Wikipedian, the Tree of Life WikiDragon (talk) 04:01, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Waiting is not working for me. Bob the Wikipedian, the Tree of Life WikiDragon (talk) 04:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Go to the thread on AN (linked above) and complain. Removing it was a daft idea. DuncanHill (talk) 11:36, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I support this change (Thanks, Alex). This makes it harder for vandals to figure out how to do it. Bob the Wikipedian, the Tree of Life WikiDragon (talk) 16:22, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

TW buttons

Hi. For some reason Twinkle's stopped working for me. It just happened; the Monobook version was removed when I clicked it in "my preferences" a while ago. It's clicked in the preferences and has been for some time. Could anyone help with this? Thanks, PeterSymonds | talk 20:42, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

It was recently removed from the list of gadgets. You will need to install it manually through monobook to get it back. It's probably a better idea to use the monobook version anyway since that lets you customize it. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 21:01, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I think it was also recently added back. --Bfigura (talk) 21:02, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I had a brief look at the AN thread linked above and saw why :). I'll try re-installing it through monobook. Thanks, PeterSymonds | talk 21:05, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Got it back. :) PeterSymonds | talk 21:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

uw-trivia needs to go

Under "Single-issue warnings", the uw-trivia selection needs to be removed, as the template was TFD'd. SchuminWeb (Talk) 14:20, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Yup, I suggest replacing it with verror or nor per the TfD discussion. --Relata refero (disp.) 08:05, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

TW stopped working on Opera and Safari

Hello everyone, I don't know why this has happened. It works fine on Firefox, but not on Opera (9.25). I used it less than 24 hours ago on Opera and it was fine. Tried restarting my pc, reinserting my TW code, no effect. Any idea why? As far as I know I didn't change any settings. Thanks.. S3000 ☎ 12:05, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Same here. It has literally stopped working for me in the past hour, but its still working in Firefox when I log on through there. Lankiveil (speak to me) 12:19, 1 May 2008 (UTC).
It just stopped working for me on Safari. Still works on Firefox. Klausness (talk) 14:43, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Not working for Safari for me either, now I know I'm not crazy, thanks. Beach drifter (talk) 19:39, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
I reset safari and now its appears fine. Beach drifter (talk) 19:42, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
It's back for me now, too. Thanks. Klausness (talk) 10:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
It's there for me, but unusable. Doesn't execute the selected function so I'm back editing on Firefox :( TorstenGuise (talk) 14:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
And it's disapeared for me again. Sigh.... Klausness (talk) 14:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, is this the problem? I just tried to install it (on Safari) and thought I'd messed it up somehow. Is there a place noobs can get help with Twinkle? Or i guess, maybe if you aren't smart enough to even install it you shouldn't be using it :).... FCSundae (talk) 16:45, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
OK.. works perfectly for me now! Does anyone have any idea what the exact problem is? Why's it going and coming randomly? S3000 ☎ 17:13, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, it sort of kind of but not really works for me now. All of the tabs and stuff appear, but when I try to use the vandalism rollback feature, the script stalls on opening the user talk page. This is on Safari 3.1.1 (Mac), with popup blocking turned off. It worked fine two days ago... Klausness (talk) 12:47, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

UAA Request malformed?

I just noticed that every time I use TW, in order to report a user name to UAA, it places a second "User:" in front of the user name. Like this but the "User:" shouldn't be there in the report. And if I click on that malformed user name it tries to find the user "User:User:(insert user name here)". Any ideas? I didn't have this problem a few minutes ago. User αTΩC 19:41, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Impossible. check your cache AzaToth 19:55, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Check that you are linking to the right(tm) twinklearv. AzaToth 20:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Bingo! I figured what's wrong. If I report a user via the user's contrib's page I get this malformed report. If I do it via their user page or talk page; everything is fine. User αTΩC 20:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Oh, missed that, fixed. AzaToth 20:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Problem

I have the newest safari and I followed the instructions but Twinkle does not work. Please help. --Megapen (talk) 16:51, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

It's a known problem that it's an unknown problem that's problematic for safari and opera users. do you get any specific errors? Have you included JSL? AzaToth 16:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm not Megapen, but I'm having a similar problem (posted just above). I'm getting no error messages, it just... doesn't seem to be there. As if I'd never installed anything. I'm not entirely sure what "including JSL" entails, but I have JavaScript enabled in my Safari preferences. Thanks, FCSundae (talk) 17:10, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I also have Javascript enabled in my Safari browser, recently I've removed two vandalism caused by Anonymous users. Every time when I try to give warnings out it does allow you to type in which article the user had vandalized but on my Safari it just ceases when it says "User talk page modification: data loaded..." and then it completely stops including on the csd section. Weird temporally error in twinkle?

When i was tagging the RadioZDead article as an A7 band, the message on the user page somehow got malformed in a rather weird way [4]. I cant seem to trace where this error came from, as none of the templates or twinkle code seem to be edited any time near this little gimmick. The problem seems solved now though as a test page i made didn't come up with this. Still since this is such a weird reaction, i thought id just report it anyway. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 10:36, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

The Template:Db-notice has been vandalized, this was not a Twinkle error. --Oxymoron83 10:42, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I already suspected that this would be vandalism, but i didn't check the above template (I looked at about 5 others instead :) ). Glad to see its also protected now. Thanks for the explanation! Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 14:59, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Is there a problem?

I've just had Twinkle up and disappear. The code is still in my monobook, and I've purged my cahce, and even re-started my computer. Is there a bug or is something wrong in my monobook. For extra help, I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.14 on Windows XP Media Center Edition. -MBK004 21:14, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm having the same issue, same version of Firefox. Rnb (talk) 21:15, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, it just showed back up for me. Maybe AzaToth was updating something? -MBK004 21:19, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
It popped back up for me too. Whew! There's no way I can fight the demons of stupidity without Twinkle! Rob Banzai (talk) 21:25, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Same. Looks good. Rnb (talk) 21:30, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
  • I just deactivated Twinkle, because the page links (edit / history / etcpp) were not showing up for me when logged in (also missing were e.g. hide/show links on navboxes). Now that I've removed it from my monobook.js, everything works as normal. (FF 2.0.0.14 / Windows XP Pro) Dorftrottel (canvass) 21:27, May 7, 2008

Period/full stop in edit summary

When restoring a prior version of a page, rolling back, etc., a dialogue box pops up requesting an edit summary, which is then put in the page history in the normal place. For whatever reason, Twinkle puts a period at the end of what is written. I usually forget this, so my Twinkle-generated edit summaries generally have two periods. More annoyingly, if I end my edit summary with a question mark, it ends with both marks. Can this be fixed? -Rrius (talk) 22:47, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Agreed - it is a bother. I doubt there's any technical obstacle to removing it. Someone just has to go and do it. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:37, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
I too find this quite annoying. Twinkle should trust us to use correct punctuation rather than trying to automatically force it on us. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 14:45, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
It was basically because I always forgot to add full stop. AzaToth 15:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Surely it would be fairly simple to trim any trailing whitespace from the summary, then add a full stop only if the last character is not a full stop, question mark or explanation mark? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:04, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

New userbox

  This user fights vandalism with Huggle and Twinkle.
Sometimes simultaneously...

I created this userbox. What do you guys think about it? Would it be OK for me to put it next to the other Twinkle userboxen on this page? J.delanoygabsadds 01:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I realize this page is not about huggle. Comes from editing in the dead of the night. I'm going to bed... J.delanoygabsadds 02:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Excellent! Am adopting this ubox! Thanks Prashanthns (talk) 19:56, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle removing items from my watchlist

Earlier today, I CSDed one of my userbox creations, and later CSDed the category it created. When I used Twinkle to do the CSDs, it removed them from my watchlist. I'd presume this is because the CSD criteria wasn't in my list of items to watchlist, but shouldn't it only be using that to decide if it should add to the watchlist, not remove items that were already there? -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 04:32, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Not working at all

I was interested in 'TWINKLE'. So I copied the text into the proper place (I can't remember the name of it) but all it did was show the text after I pressed save page and refreshed my browser. (Mozilla) Nothing really happened and I've heard the application can be quite useful and all of the 'Bugs and problems' in the Wikipedia:TWINKLE haven't helped so far, so any Information would be a help, Cheers. --SamB135 (talk) 03:48, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
