There were numerous collaborations from 2007-2010. They may be resumed at any time using the "instructions" below.

Proposals for new Collaborations

Some collaborations are highly successful, others less so and any assistance, however small, is appreciated.

The general idea is to move around the various archipelagos making a concerted improvement to a particular article. This usually lasts for a month, but sometimes (especially at Christmas/New Year for example) they can go on for longer. There are no "rules" but it can be helpful to have some kind of system. Collaborations will thus often follow the following cycle with a new collaboration involving an article taken from each of the following in order:

• Inner Hebrides
• Outer Hebrides
• Orkney
• Shetland
• Other (Clyde, Forth, Fresh water etc.)

Note that there is no reason not to propose topics related to islands such as castles or towns/villages on islands, people associated with islands etc. as well as island articles themselves.

Ideally suggestions will be posted here or on the Main Project talk page in advance. If there is agreement/no objection they then get posted on the Main Project page at the beginning of the month in question. Note that this pages talk page is a redirect to the Main Project talk page as not all project members may be watching here. There is also an archive of discussion related to previous collaborations in the Collaboration Archive.

Instructions for new Collaborations

1. Re-assess (or request the re-assessment of) the "class" of the previous collaboration on the article's talk page.
2. Add new collaboration to Project main page and add any relevant comment about previous one.
3. Add |collab=y to the use of the {{WikiProject Scottish Islands}} banner on the talk page of the article
4. Change |collab=y to |old-collab=y on the talk page of the "previous" article.

• August - The Crucible of Iron Age Shetland proposed World Heritage Site. No longer at AfD.
• July - Tankerness from red link to Start.
• May - Outer Hebrides - now GAC ready

2009

• December - Rona - from Start to C
• November - List of freshwater islands in Scotland - general brush up - now an FL
• October - Out Skerries - from stub to C class
• September - Orkney - potential FAC
• August - List of Outer Hebrides - now an FL
• July - Iona - B class saved from oblivion
• February - Arran - from start to B class - now a GA
• January - Yell Sound - now C class

2008

• December - Barra Head now a GA
• October, November - South Ronaldsay improved to C class
• September - Gigha now a GA
• August - Jarlshof, GA by 31/8.
• June, July - Great Bernera improved to C class
• May - Bass Rock improved to B class

2008

• April - Mainland, Orkney. Much improved - now B class
• March - Skye. Now a GA.
• February - Yell Much improved: promoted to B class and close to GA.
• January - Islands of the Clyde Some good progress and now B class.

2007

• December - Islands of the Clyde
• November - Ulva Result - much improved. Now promoted to B class and close to GA.
• October - Shapinsay - now an FA.
• September - Skara Brae Result - limited progress.
• August - List of Shetland islands Now a WP:FL.
• July - North Sea as part of the WP 'Collaboration of the Month' drive.
