Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/GDR task force

Welcome to the GDR task force of the Germany WikiProject!

ScopeEdit

This task force seeks to create, improve, maintain, and provide a standard of consistency for articles on all topics relating to the German Democratic Republic as well as create a forum in which interested editors can work together to improve articles.

If you are interested in becoming a regular contributor to the efforts of this task force, please feel free add yourself to the list below (in alphabetic order), listing your interests and expertise and signing your name with #{{subst:me}}. Also, if you have not already done so, we would encourage you to join our parent project WikiProject Germany.

Tagging articlesEdit

Any article related to this task force should be marked with "GDR=yes" to the {{WikiProject Germany}} project banner at the top of its talk page (see usage instructions for more details on the exact syntax). This will automatically place it into Category:GDR task force articles.

The resulting code is usually:

{{WikiProject Germany
|class=
|importance=
|GDR=yes
|GDRImp=
}}

where GDRImp can be one of Top, High, Mid, Low.

These are the currently tagged articles with their quality and GDR importance ratings:

The assessment log can be seen here: Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/GDR articles by quality log.

Categorize articlesEdit

Add categories to GDR-related articles where appropriate. To do this, add a category template like [[Category:East German writers]] to the bottom of the article on Bertolt Brecht, for example. This will place the categorized page into a list like this one. A working list of GDR-related categories can be found here.

To-doEdit

  • Tag articles!
  • Categorize articles!
  • Recruit more members!
  • Collaborate and join the discussions. If you know things, teach! (If you don't know things, Ask.)
  • Add new articles! There are plenty of East German topics still unaccounted for!
  • Expand articles (or merge if appropriate). All of these stubs would welcome further care and attention. Other articles needing expansion and improvement:
  • Add things here!

Templates, etc.Edit

You might find the following to be useful additions to GDR-related articles. Feel free to expand!

  • {{GDR cinema}} - add this template to the bottom of articles on GDR cinema, films, directors, actors, etc.

East Germany PortalEdit

The East Germany Portal requires regular input and is always seeking volunteers.
