This template is used to link to pages on Wikispore, an experimental semi sister project kind of similar to the incubator. Linking to this type of experimental content is inappropriate due to quality concerns as documented at WP:ELNO 12. Looking how the template is used in practice it is used to link to an inferior version of the biography at Louis George Gregory and to various event pages for events that already happened at World AIDS Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and International Women's Day. ‑‑Trialpears (talk) 21:50, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Should not be linking to this kind of experimental content.--Tom (LT) (talk) 23:14, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as template creator. The "inferior version of the biography" you mention is actually the biography of the Wikipedia subject's father, who led an an interesting and documented but not-Wikipedia-notable life, so more care should be applied here. The pages on commemorations in a particular year are explicitly expanding in greater detail topics that often have timelines and/or annual sections on Wikipedia, in a WP:SUMMARY fashion. ELNO 12 applies to open wikis outside of the community, not to Wikimedian community projects like Incubator, which is itself linked from all applicable language articles. This project, befitting its novel nature, has been judicious in only linking from Wikipedia after first proposing it on the talk page, and I think following local article consensus is appropriate here.--Pharos (talk) 22:36, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep There is no reason why we can't link to Incubator (and, in fact, there are many links to Incubator here). If a particular instance of the template links to a bad page, then remove that link. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 01:31, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I'm concerned about how this template is being used. It transcludes Template:Sister project, which is typically placed in the external links section and is used when the subject of the article has related content on another project. Instead, this template is being used as a showier version of an interwiki link. For example, Louis George Gregory contains this template linking to "Bio:George Gregory" on Wikispore, when an interwiki link on "George Gregory" should have been used. Using Template:Sister project does draw more attention, so that might be one reason it was done this way. Another is because it seems to be impossible to do an interwiki link right now, as Wikispore isn't on the metawiki:Interwiki map. Apparently this is because Wikispore just hasn't gotten there in the development process yet. (This distinguishes it from Incubator, which Koavf mentioned above, for which interwiki linking is implemented.) So it seems this template is being used (with good intentions, I'm sure) to short-circuit that process. Indeed, because of this, I think essentially its an external link, and our guidelines prohibit external links on the body of an article, making placement of this template anywhere but the external links section prohibited. But for me the bottom line on the template itself is that I think it is premature to have a sister project template for Wikispore until its development is further along, as indicated at least by inclusion in the interwiki map, if not full approval. --Bsherr (talk) 14:10, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Understanding that this can be used for related content on another WM project (in this case still experimental). In a sense that's not unlike See also: pointers to other WP pages. Perhaps should reiterate that the George Gregory article on Wikispore concerns the stepfather of Louis George Gregory (born Louis George, whose mother remarried to George Gregory after Louis's father Ebenezer George, passed away). The "Bio" space on Wikispore of course has the interesting function of including people who are not considered notable enough for WP biography articles, but who may be related to the subject of a WP bio - and perhaps as in the case of George Gregory, have an important influence on the notable person's life and career. An advantage of this template is to inform readers of Wikispore content related to a section they are reading (note the placement of the template for George Gregory in the article on his stepson).--A12n (talk) 06:01, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No longer serves any purpose as most warning templates are suffixed with the "If this is a shared IP address..." line. Used 25 times in total (based off an insource search), 10 of which were in the last decade (and none for 2 years). Anarchyte (talkwork) 08:46, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Mark as {{historical template}}, I think this template may still have historical value on Wikipedia as it may remind us of an era where we monitored edits of IP users closely. Aasim 20:26, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mark as historical, per Awesome Aasim, since historical markers are cheap. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 03:48, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
