Template:List of second-level domain/aero (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Incomplete (e.g. no atl.aero, boeing.aero, airbus.aero) and unsourced. Having such a partial and unsourced list is worse than having no list at all IMO. pne (talk) 08:39, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No can't be the worst: this is the result from Mozilla using in most part wikipedia sources (with no updates from it, according it's not possible to separate SLD from .TLD pages like .aero). It allow www.information.aero to update themself the part of their SLD and also the .aero page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lamidesbetes (talkcontribs) 15:32, 23 April 2013
Regardless, we shouldn't use templates to maintain data tables like this. The contents should be substituted onto .aero, and List of second level domain suffixes should be overhauled so as to not transclude so many huge tables. In fact it's worth making this a mass-nomination for all of the similar templates. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 09:08, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure to understand. but if I do, the template allow to update in once time the .aero page AND the list of SLD page. It was the only way to allow a list (needed by some programmers, without using the only list available from Mozilla which cites wikipedia and is not updated like wikipedia .tld pages).
If you have better ways to updates two pages in one edit template, you can do it, that's the only way I know to update two pages in the same time.
(I would be clearer if explained in the page, but not allowed , neither to ask for help, and it has been explained on the talk page). As you wish..., in case deletion please think to update the two pages using this common template. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lamidesbetes (talkcontribs) 15:32, 23 April 2013
The list page should not be a superset of the contents of all of the sub-pages. That's not how WP:SUMMARY works. Wikipedia is not a host for random data tables that are "needed by some programmers". Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 11:50, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Wikipedia is not a DNS server. The list itself shouldn't exist on wikipedia, so templating so it can appear in multiple places makes it doubly bad. I also agree that the other templates ought to be nominated as well. -- Whpq (talk) 16:49, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
