Template:Consent block (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

This template is only transcluded on one page and seems to violate Blocking policy (according to the policy people aren't blocked simply because they ask to be blocked.) Furthermore, the "policy" page that this was based on was never approved of by the community.

If this is deleted, the following user 212.219.2.4 should be unblocked 212.219.2.4 (talkcontribsdeleted contribsWHOISRDNStraceRBLsblock logunblock) Feinoha Talk, My master 23:47, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom, but I believe the unblocking of the specific IP mentioned above should be referred separately to WP:AN and not removed simply because the template is deleted. --RL0919 (talk) 18:06, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was thinking about adding that clause in, but I wasn't sure about it, so I picked that wording. Feinoha Talk, My master 22:09, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Might even be a T2 candidate. I disagree with unblocking the IP because of the template deletion, though. Jafeluv (talk) 13:42, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: We created this template because some school IPs had been blocked repeatedly for anonymous vandalism by students. In the cases that prompted the template, the school administration was interested in a simple technical solution that would prevent anonymous editing and account creation from the school IP but that would also allow registered users (i.e. teachers or visitors or students on a project) to edit without problem. While the blocking policy does disapprove of self-requested blocks, this particular type of block is more closely related to Template:Schoolblock: we know it's a school, and we're actively working with the school's administration to reduce or eliminate vandalism from the school IP. Remember also that policy is never etched in stone; it reflects an ever-evolving community consensus on a particular issue, and it can be updated as necessary to reflect new realities and new consensuses. - Jredmond (talk) 13:58, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Jredmond's comments. I think there are some situations in which the use of this template is warranted. — Jake Wartenberg 02:35, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep designed for a very specific issue and requires OTRS. Only intended for specific IPs (per Jredmond). This is not the same as a block-enforced (voluntary) wikibreak. --Thinboy00 @325, i.e. 06:48, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox Interstate/Business (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Not used. It seems that Template:Ibus is used on business routes instead (see: Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Ibus). Greetings Sebastian scha. (talk) 18:19, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This can be deleted. The new template mentioned is for the smaller infoboxes on pages which combine all of the Interstate business loops. Any that are split off into separate articles can use the standard {{infobox road}} template instead. Imzadi1979 (talk) 17:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
