Today, re-created an article called Lil' John which soon got a {{deleteagain}} from another user. Vandal removed the notice, which was then restored. Vandal again removed notice, at which point I restored it and the article was deleted (and then recreated as a redirect to Lil Jon, a bona fide article. I left a message on talk page requesting user discontinue actions. User responded that he thinks it's funny and that he does not plan to stop. User then replaced content of newly-created Lil' John redirect with bogus article; I then reverted it. He then created a new article, Little John, and again placed his bogus content. Looking at the wide range of IPs used, it would have to be a ban of 210.50.* in order to be completely effective. The biggest offense is to delete the sacrosanct DO NOT DELETE THIS LINE, OR YOU MAY BE BLOCKED line from the top. Another howler is to move the sandbox (or, more creatively, to exchange Wikipedia:Sandbox and Sandbox through creative copies and redirects). Or just add a phony vprotected notice. Compared to these, posting goats and sheep is relatively tame, but still frowned upon by a great many admins.     • I am not sure that WP:VIP is the correct place for this, but something is fishy here and i frankly don't know where else to list this...these users seem to be a bunch of sockpuppets intent on vote fraud on VfD. Things that make me suspisious:
      • All three users have been editing the same articles and consistently voted on th esame Vfd votes.
      • Dracula the bat states on his User page that the account was set up with the express purpose of voting on Vfd.
      • Forgotmytea created a "User" page called User:Dr Chicken. Such a user does not exist, the name has been used to sign Vfd votes by the above IP address [4]
      • The same IP address also did a number of edits to Dracula the bat's User page [5]
      • Additionally, Dracula the bat added an "anonymous" vote to a Vfd discussion [6] and tried to cover his tracks when I called him on it [7]
    • Now, while this might not be outright vandalism, vote fraud and disruption of the VfD process are serious enough to merit some action. Can anyone look into this? -- Ferkelparade π 14:59, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
The usual procedure for dealing with sock puppets on VfD is to point out that they are probably sock puppets. This tends to prevent them from actually accomplishing anything, and why keep doing it if it never helps? Hello all,

I would like to say that I take full responsibility for the sock puppet accounts - I am truly sorry about them, and I was not fully aware of the rules at the time. Please accept my humblest apologies in this matter, and I can assure you that since I was informed what I was doing was wrong, I have stopped. As Aranel said, I was informed, and have since stopped. However, I would like to say that I have never vandalised anything on Wikipedia or any site, least of all the paegs named, and I believe this accusation is wrongly leveled. If you look at my user page (Dracula the bat), then it explains what might have happened, but can I please assure you that I have never vandalised anything on here or any other site, especially the pages you have named.

Once again can I say sorry for attempting to modify the voting process, and state once again that I have never vandalised anything on this site, or any other. I only hope that this charge is dropped soon, rather than have me incorrectly branded as a vandal of this wonderful site.
