The nominator states that this woman is a non-notable councilor that does not meet POLITICIAN and this is half true, but there is a wide array of reliable sources showing this person does however easily meet the GNG as there are numerous news articles about her that cover her in depth beyond those that give cursory election coverage. The sources don't just mention her in passing, just most of the sources currently in the article but ones that mention her and her policies and projects in depth are clearly available. Also whether or not a controversy she was involved in was minor or not there was enough attention given to the matter to merit press of the subject, minorness is therefore speculative and irrelevant.LuciferWildCat (talk) 00:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Declined the proposal for deletion, the rationale of which was worded as, "Not notable without substantial coverage in independent reliable sources. None provided, none found." I've added two sources, but the article would definitely benefit from more, as well as some clean-up. Declined the proposal for deletion, the rationale of which was worded as, "Unsourced article created by indef blocked user, no evidence this feature ever existed as such". I have added a source and external links that verify the lake's existence and cleaned up the article some. The article could use more sources and copy editing. The article would benefit from more sourcing, the addition of more inline citations and copy editing to reduce promotional tone. Claims to be on the National Register of Historic Places, but isn't showing up in a search on the NRHP's site. It's "The Historic Architecture of Rutland County; Vermont State Register of Historic Places" published by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, ISBN 0-9619912-0-8 wherein it states that "(t)he activity that is the subject of this publication has been financed in part by Federal funds from the National Park Service, Department of the Interior." The Fair Haven section is covered in pages 121-140. Pgs. 121-127 covers the history of the town and residents. Pgs. 128 & 129 are of maps, Town of Fair Haven and Fair Haven Village, respectively. Pgs. 130-132 describe 105 "Sites Listed in the State Register of Historic Places" in the Town proper. Starting on page 133 is a section about the Fair Haven Green Historic District (map on page 134), with a listing that commences on page 134 of the buildings that comprise the Fair Haven Green Historic District. The building in question is number A33 (page 135), described as "House, 1867, Architect/builder A.C. Hobson. French Second Empire style, stone, Mansard roof, 2 1/2 stories. Features: belvedere, marble, porte cohere, hood moldings, transom, quoins, enriched cornice, enriched frieze, Italianate porch." Also listed on the property are two out buildings: A33a Pump House c. 1885, and A33b Carriage Barn c. 1875. No building in the district is singled out as a separate landmark, while the Fair Haven Green Historic District is labeled as "Listed in the National Register of Historic Places" (pg. 134). OK, I'll admit I went about this the wrong way. I sought out editors who I felt would be interested in commenting on the AFD, and I have been accused of canvassing as a result, and perhaps rightly so. I do think some good points were brought up by those who had commented in favor of keeping, and I think that those who responded subsequently have added more good points. Naturally, some people are very dismissive of anything that is outside of their own philosophies, and are up in arms that I went about things the wrong way and painting me as the worst kind of villain. I don't even want to comment there, because that particular lion's den doesn't look very inviting to me. So, although I don't want any more drama but I will probably still be judged harshly for this, I am coming here to do the right thing and to request for people to help look for more and better sourcing. I think some good editors have found at least minimal sourcing to make this article worth keeping, and I'm sure some of the dilligent editors who observe this list can do even better. LuciferWildCat has been around the block and knows an article needs sources. This one has none, he should know better, he doesn't get a newbie pass. The phrase "salvage meat" can occur often, i.e., "any of several charities eligible to salvage meat from road-killed" (Anchorage Daily News - Feb 4, 1998), but I can find no books sources of newspapers sources using it as defined in the current article. Some USDA officials have referred to pink slime as a "salvage product", not "salvage meat". The current article consist mainly of a list of supremacist and fundamentalist groups taking the streets to protest LGBT movements. A great opportunity for the ARS to shine. The current article is a shameful collage of unrelated links thrown together, but there is enough material out there to rewrite it as a scholarly definition and turn the mess into a start-class encyclopedic treatment. Is the ARS still up to the task it prides itself to defend? Why can't we have an article about a slogan used by LGBT oponents, if there are reliable sources describing it as a slogan used by LGBT oponents? (There are several of those in Google Scholar, written bt LGBT activists). The slogan itself is not synonymous with homophobia, it's a specific term used in that context; just like gay mafia and homosexual agenda can have articles of their own. I'm currently in favor to a merge given the current article status, but I'm asking the ARS to create a neutral article with sources from both sides that can have its own stand-alone article since it is a well-identified topic and there's currently a reasonable presumtion of notability. As it is now, however, all we have is evidence that the slogan has been used by various individuals and groups who apparently thought it up by themselves, independent of each other. This isn't all that remarkable because the events they are reacting to are called "Gay Pride" events. Any child could come up with the slogan "Straight Pride" as a name for their response. There's nothing noteworthy about that. NONE of there sources produced so far discuss the usage of the slogan beyond the single event in question, or connect it to a unified "phenomenon". There is no indication that any of the individuals using the slogan have ever even heard of each other. Code words like Gay Mafia and homosexual agenda have a very well-documented history of usage, and have been discussed extensively in the press and scholarly literature. This is not the case for "Straight Pride". If sources can be found that discuss the slogan in depth and comprehensively and more than just hypothetically, by all means create an article. I've been sifting through the sources for a month, to no avail, and so have the other principals in the AfD. What I do find offensive to the extreme is when ARS members show up at AfD's claiming that there is OBVIOUSLY sufficient substantial coverage to establish notability solely on the basis of cursory Google searches, or with scads of irrelvant sources culled from Google searches without taking the time to read and evaluate them, dumping that work on the other editors. It's very disrespectful to those of us who have actually taken the time to examine and evaluate the sources. On the other hand, I do respect those ARS members who show up with concrete and relevant sources that they have personally taken the time to examine and evaluate. Nobody's forcing you to do the work. I posted this entry because what the sources I found were enough in my view to establish notability. That you don't only means that we have different criteria for what establishes notability, or maybe that we didn't the exact same sources. That's OK; what's not OK is that you don't know how much effort I dedicated nor the previous knowledge I had on the subject, but still made a personal attack on my intention and my level of evaluation on the sources available. I personally hate the word "Obvious" at discussions - I prefer that people arrive to their own conclusions, that's why I posted the search to help people interested; my post was clearly my own evaluation of what was to be found there. I would have introduced the ones I found relevant in the article, but Milowent beat me to it for many of them; that's teamwork, and it would be silly to complain about it at a place like Wikipedia. Finally, the AfD shows that several other editors found your arguments about "several unrelated events" unconvincing; that's what merge and deletion discussions are for, to gather opinions from uninvolved people. If the discussion doesn't develop the way you like it, don't take it out on the ARS; Milowent's behaviour so far has been impeccable by not posting at the AfD discussion so far and letting the sources talk by themselves. I found a number of law review articles which discuss the 2001 T-shirt lawsuit, which arguably makes that lawsuit notable, but not more on the straight pride aspect. Deford, Michigan – AfD discussion closed as kept, early closure

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deford, Michigan. There's no doubt this populated place article will be kept, but it could use some further improvement, such as a map showing its location in the county (see some of the articles for other communities in the county which have a nifty map). As to the AfD discussion, there seems to be some argument that the populated place should be merged with the surrounding township article, but in my experience we generally don't do that if there is sourcing specific to the community itself, which there is here.--Milowent • hasspoken 14:31, 2 April 2012 (UTC) Please don't forget to add the rescue list tag to the discussion.
