TSB Banking Group edit

You're right, it is public information. It doesn't necessarily add much here though. We already include that Lloyds Banking Group own 50%, the only extra information is that Majedie Asset Management Limited own 5.12% and other investors own the rest. Jubilee Holdings Limited edit

Dear Zotezangu, thank you for the work you are doing. At the time I created Jubilee Insurance Company Limited, it was my intention to make it about the Kenyan subsidiary of Jubilee Holdings Limited. I apologize if the difference is not clear. I had put up hat notes to lessen the confusion, but someone removed them. I will put up new ones. If you can help to add material that can make the difference clearer, please help re-edit the text. Also, if you can, please add both articles to your watch list. I will add them to mine. Thanks. Fsmatovu (talk) 14:56, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fsmatovu Would it be okay if I trimmed the "ownership" section of Jubilee Insurance Company Limited? I can also look into additional information to make the article differ even further. Thanks for working tirelessly to make sure the rest of us have access to the information on Wikipedia. Zotezangu (talk) 18:14, February 19, 2015 (EAT)
Hi Zotezangu That would be fine. Fsmatovu (talk) 15:31, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Invitation edit

Thank you for using VisualEditor and sharing your ideas with the developers.

Hello, Zotezangu,

The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Nomination of Mützig for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Mützig is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mützig until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. SilkTork ✔Tea time 18:48, 28 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of MCB Group edit

The article MCB Group has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable company. No evidence of awards, charting or in depth coverage in independent reliable sources. All refs are to company sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, and thank you for creating new pages to make Wikipedia a better and more inclusive encyclopedia. However, if you wish to experiment with building a new page, why don't you consider using the sandbox for your account? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page. Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Prose measurer edit

Hi, it's readable prose which counts, not overall size. The article you did is 2200 odd bytes so comfortably long enough though. Just sources the unsourced sentences in the subsidiaries. here's a tool to measure readable prose:

importScript('User:Dr_pda/prosesize.js'); // User:Dr pda/prosesize

Instructions:

  1. Go into your preferences
  2. Where it says "Shared CSS/JavaScript for all skins:", click "custom javascript
  3. Paste the command given above into that and save.
  4. Now approach an article and look in the tools section on the left. You should see "Page size". Click that for each article and you'll quickly get a reading without having to paste text all of the time and look externally.
  5. Look out for where it says, for example: "Prose size (text only): 1684 B (289 words) "readable prose size" ". That's what we're looking for on this, that has to read over 1500 B when finished.

Dr. Blofeld 20:09, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dr. Blofeld, Thanks for the advise. I have amended the details. Zotezangu (talk) 21:33, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Africa Destubathon edit

Hi, thanks for your work so far! Can you do me a favour though and always add every entry you do to the main list here as well as the entries page, regardless if yet approved or not as that's the master list of all articles being done. It's just very time consuming for me to be judging the articles, trying to contribute myself and chasing up what people have done and filling it out for people each time. So if you can take care of that this would be a great help, there's some part filled out ones underneath so you just need to add country, article name and then your username. Thanks.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:33, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016 edit

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

UAP Holdings edit

Hello Zotezangu,

As you know, Old Mutual owns the majority of UAP Holdings (60.66%) and Faulu Kenya (67%), effctive February 2015. Since that time has been integrating their legacy businesses into UAP Holdings to form "UAP Old Mutual" or is it "UAP Old Mutual Holdings"?

What is clear is all of Old Mutual's Kenyan assets are now grouped under the UAP Old Mutual Group, which consists of three entities (a) Faulu Kenya, (b) the former UAP Holdings and (c) the legacy businesses of Old Mutual Kenya. (b) and (c) are being merged into one company. What is he name of that company? Once you find out, I suggest you redirect UAP Holdings to that new entity's name. I was going to do it, but I was not sure of what to call it. I have already written the articles on UAP Old Mutual Group and Peter Mwangi, the Group CEO. Thank you. Fsmatovu (talk) 19:39, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fsmatovu. Always great hearing from you. You are correct in stating that the former UAP Holdings and the legacy businesses of Old Mutual Kenya have been merged into UAP Old Mutual Group. What remains is the shareholding restructure and official name change to Old Mutual Holding. This is to be concluded in 2020. What I can do is show UAP Holdings as defunct and merged with Old Mutual Kenya. Then your Page, UAP Old Mutual Group becomes the resultant entity. Any thoughts? Zotezangu (talk) 08:22, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Zotezangu, what I think is better is to redirect the article UAP Holdings to a new article titled UAP Old Mutual Holdings, the new entity that will result after the mergers are concluded. UAP Old Mutual Group = UAP Old Mutual Holdings + Faulu Kenya. My thoughts. Fsmatovu (talk) 19:06, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Fsmatovu. That's a great idea. Could you kindly move the page? I seem not to have the user rights to move it. Thanks as always. Zotezangu (talk) 19:16, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ockel Sirius B edit

The article Ockel Sirius B has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this device passes WP:NCOMPANY/GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:NIC Bank Logo.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:NIC Bank Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of KCB Bank Burundi Limited for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article KCB Bank Burundi Limited is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KCB Bank Burundi Limited until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion.

—Brigade Piron (talk) 19:41, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wanga Kingdom edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wanga Kingdom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://kakamega.go.ke/history/, nation.africa/kenya/life-and-style/dn2/organised-wanga-kingdom-aided-the-british-and-arabs-882304, and abeingo.com/HTML_files/news_culture.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello StanMarshalls Thank you. You are right. RMB and RMH share a long history. Please go ahead and update the page. Your input will make Wikipedia better. Thanks! Zotezangu (talk) 17:59, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I'm unable to edit page titles. From what I've seen only the writer who started a page can change a page title. Could you please make the edit on your side. Thanks. 196.10.113.19 (talk) 08:12, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello StanMarshalls, I have checked the company latest financial statements and the official name remains RMB Holdings with RMH as its trading name. Based on this, It would be better to leave the page as is. Zotezangu (talk) 14:55, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
