My First Talk edit

Hi Wikipedians, I am Young Lecturer. I have a keen interest in Solid State Physics, Physics Electronics, and Photovoltaics related articles. I look forward to hearing from you on how to develop the wikiproject Physics together.--Young Lecturer (talk) 06:04, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am also interested in the Energy wikiproject. I am planning to contribute immensely to the electricity sector in Nigeria; the mode of power generation, transmission, and distribution. Young Lecturer (talk) 16:03, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Energy in Nigeria, have removed content without a good reason to do so. Content on Wikipedia should not be removed just because you disagree with it or because you think it's wrong, unless the claim is not verifiable. Instead, you should consider expanding the article with noteworthy and verifiable information of your own, citing reliable sources when you do so. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Thank you for the information, it was an error. I was trying to copy-edit some grammatical errors. However, I tried to undo the mistake and I hope it has been corrected. Please let me know if the problem is not fixed so that I can undo it. Nice to hear from you. Young Lecturer (talk) 14:48, 12 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Using the 'Show preview' facility can help avoid errors. Best wishes.SovalValtos (talk) 14:57, 12 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

March 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Solar energy—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 21:28, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the correction. I was trying to copyedit it using Grammarly software. I hope the remaining changes were okay. Thanks. Young Lecturer (talk) 22:00, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Young Lecturer! Your additions to FHI-aims have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 16:13, 27 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the corrections. I will take note of that in my future edits. Regards. Young Lecturer (talk) 16:45, 27 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Grammarly edit

Please don't use Grammarly or other automated grammar-checking programs for editing Wikipedia without carefully checking the changes that they made. Many of your edits have introduced as many errors as they resolved (such as hyphenating phrases that shouldn't be highlighted, changing parameter names in template, altering direct quotes, and inappropriate replacement of prepositions). See Wikipedia:Bot policy#Bot-like editing for more info. --Ahecht (TALK

Disambiguation link notification for October 17 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Laboratory (publishing), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Audio. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:15, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Honorifics edit

Please stop adding Muslim honorifics to articles as you did at Ubadah ibn al-Samit and other articles. This is an encyclopedia, a reference work, not a religious text. It might be useful to review the Manual of Style for Islam-related articles. —ShelfSkewed Talk 02:53, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Alright, thanks for the update. Young Lecturer (talk) 05:25, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 105 112 189 210. I changed my network from MTN to Airtel Network Ltd. Young Lecturer (talk) 01:09, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You are not blocked, you've been editing after making this request. Yamla (talk) 09:31, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I was actually shown IP address block message before sending my request. However, I attempted editing after sending the request and it went through. That was how it used to do, it will show edit block message, after sometimes it will turn to unblock edit. So I decided to sent the request so that it can be rectified once and for all. Anyway, I didn't experience same again after requesting for the unblock.Young Lecturer (talk) 10:58, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

December 2022 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Northern Ndebele people, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 06:44, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your advice. I am looking forward to other suggestions if need be. I would ensure that I preview my edits before publishing in future edits.
Thanks a lot. Young Lecturer (talk) 08:02, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
