Thanks for uploading File:Vaddis logo jpg.jpeg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Vaddis logo jpg.jpeg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vaddis logo jpg.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:21, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

December 2015 edit

Hello, I'm Vin09. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Vaddi, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Vin09 (talk) 11:35, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vaddi. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Vin09 (talk) 08:07, 12 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Vaddi, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 13:13, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

No, you cannot add your "profile" to your user page
You can add "information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages"

How can i gain Rhodium star and how i can be the wikipedia Administrator WP MANIKHANTA 10:01, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

What work have you done to become an admin. You need to help wiki with your contributions first.--Vin09(talk) 10:39, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Administrators wouldn't move an active article such as Adam's Bridge without getting consensus first on the talk page. They would understand our WP:COMMONNAME policy and follow it. They would examine sources before such a move and note that Hindu sources use 'Adam's Bridge'. More generally, they would have probably over 5,000 edits, a good record for editing properly following our guidelines and policies, activity on discussion boards such as WP:ANI, WP:RSN, WP:NPOVN and others. Probably closing WP:AfDs as well (none of which should be done without considerable editing experience). Wikipedia:Service awards explains you'd need 4 years and 24,000 edits to gain a Rhodium star - I'll be entitled to a Orichalcum Editor Star in a few weeks although I have far more edits than required - I've got almost 15,000 edits. I've reverted your page move, please don't do that again. Doug Weller talk 10:50, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
And of course they wouldn't sock, and if they'd ever been blocked, that would have been years ago. By the way, I am an Administrator. Doug Weller talk 10:51, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello WP MANIKHANTA, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Vaddi has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. You added copyright material from a source that fails WP:RS using your sockpuppet User:MANI18 Thank you. Doug Weller talk 13:52, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Minor edits again edit

You've been asked twice to stop marking your edits minor. Please don't ignore these request.

Also, please sign with 4 tildes like this: ~~~~ Look below the edit box were it says"Sign your posts on talk pages" - you can just click on the 4 tildes.

And please don't add more nonsense like a claim that the National Aeronautical and Space Administration said Adams Bridge was manmade, they didn't. Doug Weller talk 14:03, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Adam's Bridge edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Rajahmundry, but we cannot accept original research. Hello, and welcome again to Wikipedia. I noticed that your signature does not contain a link to your user page, user talk page or contributions log.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Peddintlamma_Temple,_Kolletikota. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Vin09(talk) 09:32, 22 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please see Wikipedia:Deletion process for the three main methods - Speedy deletion, Proposed deletion and Deletion discussion.
Please note, however, that the decision will be made as to whether the article meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, not on whether you object to the article, or its content - Arjayay (talk) 15:52, 6 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Pattiseema into Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, Pattiseema. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:32, 10 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju edit

Hello WP MANIKHANTA,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Vinod 06:25, 15 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:35, 15 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

How to use images that were used in other language(te) of wikipedia? if they were locally uploaded images then how to convert it for commons images and how to get non-free licensing?

You have two options in using these images on the English Wikipedia:
  1. If the image is freely licensed, not non-free, you can transfer it to Commons where it will be usable on all Wikimedia projects. The Commons has a guidance page on this topic at c:Commons:First steps/File transfer and tools. The English Wikipedia also has a page on transferring files from the English Wikipedia to Commons, which I know isn't exactly what you want to do, but some of the ideas are the same. You can check it out at Wikipedia:Moving files to the Commons.
  2. If the image is non-free, it cannot be moved to Commons. Commons does not accept non-free files. You can upload it here, locally, on the English Wikipedia only if it complies with our rules on non-free content. Our rules may be different than the rules on other language Wikipedia projects, so just because it is acceptable on another project doesn't mean it will be acceptable here.
If you'd like to ask about the acceptableness of a particular file on another language Wikipedia, feel free to link to it and use the help me template again. Cheers, Nick—Contact/Contribs 15:11, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Indus Valley Civilisation terracotta namaste figurine.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Indus Valley Civilisation terracotta namaste figurine.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:50, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Your addition to Snake has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. /wiae /tlk 14:02, 11 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I also found text that had been copied directly from copyrighted sources in many of your recent substantive contributions (for example, at Kolleru Bird Sanctuary, Indus Valley Civilisation and Indus script). If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to read this Wikipedia essay about copying text from other sources. The basic principle is that editors cannot just copy material from other websites and add it to Wikipedia. (This is only possible in certain special cases, when the text is properly licensed.) Instead, the best course of action is usually to paraphrase: rewrite the material in your own words. If you're unfamiliar with paraphrasing, these two websites may be a helpful start. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Doug Weller talk 15:26, 11 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I agree with my block as i copied content directly from source with no consensus on Wikipedia:COPYPASTE.But i take back my threat and won't repeat it again; can anything be done to resolve this? Kindly answer me if any possibilities. Please believe in me that from now i carefully read all guidelines before contributing to wikipedia as i love wikipedia very much. From this block i genuinely learn that before contributing i should learn guidelines and policies. I genuinely learn from mistakes and i can keep to the spirit of community policies. My favorite principle from wikipedia is that all wikipedians should interact in a repectful and civil manner(One of the five pillars of wikipedia) I think the block is no longer necessary(in period of blocking time) because i understand what i am blocked for, i will not do it again, and instead i will make productive contributions.I am willing and able to contribute positively to wikipedia.I am positive with my block but Please unblock me from indefinite time instead block me to a limited period of time(i.e, for a period of 1month, 2months or more) but please unblock me from indefinite time period. Please believe in that i am able to contribute positively to wikipedia. Your's sincerely WP MANIKHANTA Talk 06:29, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Like Doug Weller, I am somewhat concerned that you're still out of your depth on the English Wikipedia, especially regarding written English skills. (This is particularly evident from your unblock request.) You should be more comfortable at the Telugu and/or Simple English Wikipedias, and should continue to edit there for a few months. Limiting the time of the block accomplishes nothing -- your block should expire when you have improved sufficiently, not after a fixed time. But we can't put that into the block form. Decline reason:

You've already had a second chance after your block for sockpupetry earlier this year. And you've had many, many, many chances to stop violating copyright. You have provided no reason to believe otherwise. Now, we'll certainly consider an unblock at some point in the future, when you can show you have avoided sockpuppetry for a period of time and can clearly convince us that you won't ever, ever violate copyright again. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:55, 21 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
