Hi Vervin, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thankyou for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~. (Just so you know, some people won't pay attention to unsigned comments).

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

Above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

Welcome!Edit

Hi Vervin. Just wanted to say thanks for adding information about the neighbourhoods of Kiev. Maybe all of them will have some information listed shortly? -- mno July 7, 2005 16:34 (UTC)

What is you opinion?Edit

Hi, Vervin! What do you think about corfrect English spelling of Ukrainian city names? For instance, Encyclopedia Britannica uses Chernihiv for all periods of the history [1], but several (mostly Russian) users disagry and insist that only name Chernigov may be applied to all events happend before 1991. What's your opinion?

There are two votings (see Talk:Mikhail of Chernihiv and Talk:Oleg of Chernihiv). I invite you to participate, if you are interested in the subject. Regards, --AndriyK 15:06, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Kiev MetroEdit

No need to update I already did that yesterday [2] :) You know a lot about Metro? --Kuban Cossack 15:44, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I just wondering this image of the Dnepr station, it seemed to originate from this site. Does that meant that all of those images from that site are PD? That would help me writing articles a GREAT LOT!--Kuban Cossack   00:45, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

PodlachiaEdit

Podlachia is the only traditionally Ukrainian speaking area of present day Poland where the local population has not been removed in 1944-1947. Please, feel free to make a visit there to check personally. In contrary to neighboring Chelm region only a small number of people regarded as Ukrainian activists were resettled (including one person from my family). The reason was that at that time the local population in majority did not consider themselves Ukrainians and were Roman Catholics (even if they still used Ukrainian dialect as a vernacular language). So, please stop reverting. Regards. Yeti 13:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Moyshe AltmanEdit

Hi, just a courtesy note to say that I have marked up this page, that you created, as needing translating. BlueValour (talk) 00:17, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Vervin, I am a great grandaughter of Moyshe Altman, please reply if I can contact you personally. I would like to know why you created this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinadune (talkcontribs) 02:48, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Kiew_Metro_Dnepr.jpegEdit

Thanks for uploading File:Kiew_Metro_Dnepr.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:35, 2 January 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 01:35, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Boris FarmakovskyEdit

A tag has been placed on Boris Farmakovsky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of Haydamaky (band)Edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Haydamaky (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 14:54, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Haydamaky (band)Edit

The article Haydamaky (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable band.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 15:29, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Oleksandr MurashkoEdit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Oleksandr Murashko requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.encyclopediaofukraine.com/culture.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
