Speculation edit

You may notice that I've restored the two notes chez Gabriel Fauré. I understand why you dislike speculation, but I think it is part of our function to report faithfully what the various sources have said. We have made it clear that these two points are speculation on the part of the source. Best wishes, Tim riley talk 17:04, 2 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

!vote (Not-vote) edit

I just wanted to explain that this strange-looking word "!vote" is widely used in internal discussions on Wikipedia pages. It's meant to indicate that contributions to discussions are not quite "votes", and the final outcome is not strictly judged on a !vote count, but also takes into account the merits of the arguments put forward by the participants. It's further explained here: Noyster (talk), 20:12, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. DYK for Sticky Vicky edit

On 27 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sticky Vicky, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that as part of her magic act in Benidorm, Sticky Vicky pulled ping-pong balls, eggs, handkerchiefs, sausages, and razor blades out of her vagina? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sticky Vicky. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Sticky Vicky), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Per the above discussion, links intended to invoke the state of New York must be piped through New York (state) to make it possible to find links made to "New York" but intending other topics. Cheers! bd2412 T 01:11, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

José Luis Pérez de Arteaga edit

You're welcome! Yeah, for the articles who only have pages from Wikipedias of other languages, the majority of people who read the English Wikipedia and only know English as a language may not know who they are until they are created. It's sad, really, especially when if it is an article about a recently deceased person, as was the case for señor Pérez de Arteaga. --PootisHeavy (talk) 00:13, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but.... edit

...no thanks.

Proposed deletion of Chrystalla Georghadji edit

Hello, Triplecaña. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Chrystalla Georghadji, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

scope_creep (talk) 09:41, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Scope creep: I have added refs. Can you remove the template? Triplecaña (talk) 10:50, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Triplecaña, that it removed. WP:BLP articles need robust references. The article also needs additional categories. scope_creep (talk) 10:59, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Help request for mapping section titles edit

Hi. We (the Research Team at Wikimedia Foundation) are building an algorithm that will align Wikipedia article sections across languages. For improving this algorithm we need the help of multilingual Wikipedia editors to provide true statements to the algorithm. You are contacted because based on your Babel template and/or content translation tool usage you know at least two of the following languages: ar (Arabic), fr (French), ja (Japanese), en (English), es (Spanish), ru (Russian).

(Note: by clicking the links in the following paragraph, you will be taken to Google spreadsheet.) If you'd like to help us with translating a subset of the section titles on or before 2018-05-15, please read and follow the instructions. If you see instructions in another language, please scroll down to find your preferred language. If you have questions about this message, you can contact us via Diego. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Beer brands of Belgium edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Beer brands of Belgium requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
