Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Majid Al Futtaim Group. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Diff: [1] Also, please do not copy and paste large blocks of content from other websites, as such content is presumed to be copyrighted, and adding copyrighted content to Wikipedia without appropriate permission, is not permissible. I will update based on your feedback, thank you. but copy was not cut and paste but refined. Equally none of the content that I am aware was soapbox / advertising or promotional. I tried to ensure it was just factual content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tobias mills (talk • contribs)

Hi, there are two issues, so I will address them individually: 1) Content needs to be written in our own words, not "refined". Even close paraphrasing could be a copyright violation. The content submitted, for example under the header Majid Al Futtaim Retail, was lifted verbatim from the company's website, and only "refined" with the addition of one sentence. It's not presented as a quotation, it is presented as original content, and it's the sort of thing that would probably get you kicked out of university if you wrote a report like that. :) 2) If we are attempting to mirror the company's website by presenting information about all their ventures, then we are inherently promoting the subject, because the purpose of a company's website is to promote itself, even if some of the language doesn't appear promotional. Some language, like how the company aims to become the "credit card solutions provider of choice" in the UAE is inherently promotional. Also, the purpose of the article is to deliver an overview on the subject, not report on every aspect of the company's ventures. Hope that helps. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:55, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia.
