Good article nomination for Washington (state) edit

Hi Steven Ingram, I received a notification that, as an IP address (AKA not logged in), you submitted a good article nomination for Washington (state). If that wasn't you, disregard this message. If that was you, however, I wanted you to be aware of the time commitment of a good article nomination.

As nominator, you've essentially listed that you want a peer reviewer to go through the article and point out its problems for you to fix. They will point out every formatting error, uncited statement, usage of an unreliable source, and a host of other problems. The peer editor will compare the article to the good article criteria, then ask you to fix the article in all the ways that it is deficient. This can be a very long process for both the reviewer and the nominator. If you decide that this is not the path you want to go down (and I strongly advise you against pursuing this good article nomination to protect your time and that of whoever would decide to conduct the review), you can withdraw your nomination.

To withdraw a nomination before the review has begun, remove the {{GA nominee}} template from the article talk page. To withdraw a nomination after the review has begun, let the reviewer know. The reviewer will then fail the nomination. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:52, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

As I did not hear back from you, I went ahead and withdrew the nomination. If you decide that you are committed to pursuing this Good Article Renomination, you can of course renominate the page. Thanks, Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:17, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
