Request reason:

Hello Ritchie333, I am really surprised by the fact that you have decided to block my account due to the fact that you think I am somehow advertising for this company, building, or whatever it is you think I am advertising for. First off, I would just like to say there is nothing on this page that indicates any sort of advertisement, and second I would like to ask what exactly do you think I am advertising or self-promoting? This is simply a historical article about the history of a compound in the city of Berlin and a company that has owned the buildings for the majority of its time since it was erected. I would like to also point out that this company being discussed along with the buildings is no longer in function in the way the article discusses. I would also like to note there are no paid or unpaid tours given at this site. There is no money to be made off this article being published or any need for it. This is simply an article about the history of this area in Berlin? If you go through the sources I have given which are very significant and most of which are government sources I don't understand why you have done this? I have provided a significant amount of viable research along with pictures that can be cross-referenced to support everything that is written down. If you would like the name of the article to be changed then I will happily do so. I would really appreciate it if you would retract your decision on this and allow this article to be published. I have spent a great deal of time on this research and would like to write other articles related to the other historic buildings in this district of Berlin. Well, you're writing about the Schmolling family, and your username is Sschmolling94. When describing their building, you write, "Today the old Moabit Pferdebahnhof is a cultural monument of Berlin and is regularly mentioned as a historical site for locals and visitors alike to take a trip too. The brick work and design on the front administration building is a rare sight in Berlin for those fascinated in old Prussian architecture." This reads like you're trying to promote it for some reason. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 11:02, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello NinjaRobotPirate, thank you for your comment. I understand your concern about the username and this is my first time writing an article on here and I just used a name that was available and since the article had to do with it I used it. I don't understand your second point? I am writing about the architecture and design of a building? The whole point of history is to admire it and promote it for people to also be able to appreciate it. There is nothing at this site for people to buy? These buildings are occupied by people living and working in these buildings. Theres nothing around here to promote? The only thing you could say I am promoting is a government verified historic site in Berlin for people to visit and see if they're touring around Berlin. I don't understand how there is a anything wrong with that. (Sschmolling94 (talk) 12:23, 19 October 2020 (UTC))Reply

Request for Unblock edit

Based on the feedback I have received. It's clear that I have written this article not in accordance with wiki's guidelines. May I please be unblocked and try to rewrite this from a more neutral and strictly historical point of view? I will even remove the company from the page and only focus on the buildings. After all the feedback I have received. Can I please be unblocked so I can rewrite this article? It is clear that I was not fully aware of how things need to be written on Wikipedia. Thank you very much.Sschmolling94 (talk) 16:16, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Could you explain, in your own words, how Wikipedia's WP:NPOV policy works, and specifically how that would apply to articles about historical landmarks? signed, Rosguill talk 17:57, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Based on what I have read in the W:NPOV I need to adhere to this when editing and publishing on Wikipedia. All the content on Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view this means representing fairly, proportionately, and without editorial bias, all the significant views must be taken into account that have been published by reliable sources with regards to the topic. This is one of Wikipedia's 3 core content policies. During my editing I need to avoid stating opinions as facts, Avoid stating seriously contested assertions as facts, Avoid stating facts as opinions, Prefer nonjudgmental language, and Indicate the relative prominence of opposing views. I hope after this statement it will be efficient enough to allow me to rewrite this article that I have done significant research on. Thank you. Sschmolling94 (talk) 16:50, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is pretty much just copied from the policy, rather than being in your own words. Try again. signed, Rosguill talk 20:31, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi Rosguill, let me try and be more clear. I am sorry if it seemed copied and pasted, but I just wanted to be as clear as possible that I have read and re-read this so I do not make the mistake again. I would like to write an article about a historical monument in Berlin. I solely want to base my writings on facts and not opinions that are backed up by verified documents that are not opinionated in any way. I will talk from a neutral point of view and not speak about the monuments in an over flattering way that is not appropriate or back up by facts. If a monument is built in a form of Prussian architecture I will simply state that and the builders, architects, etc... I will not comment on how beautiful it is. This is not my job and Wikipedia is not the place for me to give my opinion. I will discuss only facts and historical references that can be supported by the sources I provide. Therefore in the article, I will only discuss the historical timeline of the building and not boast or highlight anything in an unwelcome manner to make it sound like I am promoting it. I will be especially careful to not have any editorial bias which I did in the previous drafts. I fully accept and apologize for. This is my first time writing an article and would like to write more about the buildings in this area and I treated this more like a blog than a page that's accepted on Wikipedia. I want to see more coverage of historic buildings around the world as well, and hopefully we can get this into shape. I'm still not sure exactly what the title of the article should be, it's a building in Moabit but not the Markthalle. It might be easier to write the article on the German Wikipedia first and then translate it back here. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:57, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sschmolling94 and @Ritchie333: I agree, more articles on historic buildings in Berlin (and elsewhere) would be great. I've written a few in the past and so have others, but there are tons waiting to be done. Since this building's listing as a historical monument by Berlin is under Berliner Pferdebahnhof, I would move the draft article to Draft:Berliner Pferdebahnhof and make it all about the building with only a last section in the history about the fact the dairy company now operates there. Its its history that makes it notable. Other Wikipedians can then debate over whether it should be moved to an English title and what that should be; we've gone through at least one major change of opinion on the titling of articles on buildings in Germany, with it once being established consensus to translate the building names, so Red City Hall and so on, but that's since changed and now a building whose article I edited is at Altes Stadthaus, Berlin, which at least gets around trying to find a short, comprehensible English translation for Stadthaus. By the way, it's listed at de:Liste der Kulturdenkmale in Berlin-Moabit as "Betriebshof der Großen Berliner Pferde-Eisenbahn AG"; de:Große Berliner Pferde-Eisenbahn AG redirects to de:Geschichte der Straßenbahn in Berlin, which covers it glancingly. Despite this gap on German Wikipedia, I would not advocate starting an article there and translating it, both because it's surprisingly hard to translate an article and end up with something understandable that explains what needs to be explained, and usually it's easier to achieve that by starting from scratch even if you wrote the original article, and because German Wikipedia checks new articles very thoroughly and thus discourages people from writing them. (I wrote one, I didn't do a good job, and I took up a lot of editors' time fixing it, including them really not liking English-language sources, even a thesis written at a Berlin university. All the Wikipedias are different and have their own ways of doing things.) Anyway, welcome back, and please do rework the article so we can have it.
