he was truly an hero, can you stop reverting my edits? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.229.227.108 (talk) 15:11, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't believe any mass-killer is "a hero", and I think my opinion is shared by most people out there. Anyway, terms like "failed to beat Seung-Hui Cho's high score" do not belong in an encyclopedia. Spiby 10:29, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

My Secret Page edit

I just thought I'd tell you that I put in the userbox for finding my secret page. In case you were wondering where it came from. Hi878 (talk) 23:52, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've moved my secret page. If you want to, come try to find the new one. Hi878 (talk) 02:06, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

George Harrison template edit

Hello Spiby. I know that you take good care of this template so I wanted to let you know that the fix that you put in to make the "Related items" section of this template fit on two lines made the link to the Concert for George disappear. The album still shows up but the link to the page for the concert does not. If you want it to fit on two lines I might suggest that we remove the link to the album and leave the one for the concert. I think that (my own POV I know) the concert itself is the important event. Readers who use this template to get to the page for the concert will find a link to the album there if they are interested. Now this is just a suggestion and if you disagree I will understand. Maybe there is some other way to get the link to the concert back into the box that you can think of. Thanks for you time and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 18:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your input, but I think you missed what my edit actually did. The template currently reads:
Concert for George (album)
which results in "Concert for George (album)". If you click the first part you get to the concert itself, and if you click the link inside the brackets you get to the album-article. If you think this is too confusing go ahead and change it in the way you suggested, but I feel the current version is ok. Cheers, Spiby 11:46, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I truly did miss what the edit did and my compliments as that is quite clever. I think that it is a little misleading to the average reader (again my opinion) as most templates like this rarely have something that clever in it. Thus, I tried a fix that I am sure that you will notice. If you don't like it plz feel free to change it back. I also forgot to thank you in my first message for leaving Handmade Films in. While they were in business I new that their name in the credits meant that the film had the potential to be interesting. Since then interviews that I have read or heard (especially from Michael Palin) state how much the people that made films under their banner appreciated the company. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 22:03, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think the edit you made makes it clearer to the reader, but I moved the bracket from
Concert for George and its (album)
to
Concert for George (and its album)
which (in my opinion) looks better. As for HandMade films, well, they are as important as his other projects. Without them, we perhaps wouldn't have had Life of Brian! Sad though that they lost so much money and went out of business. Have a nice day! Spiby 11:02, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think that your last edit makes everything look good and the pages that are linked to are clear and concise. Good job and thanks for the collaboration. MarnetteD | Talk 21:19, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Anne Holmlund edit

On February 13, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Anne Holmlund, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thanks, but PFHLai was the one who saved the nomination by coming up with a good hook. The three I suggested just were not good enough :) Spiby 12:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:GHCover-2004.jpg listed for deletion edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:GHCover-2004.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. You seem to know the rules regarding non-free media better than me, and you make a good point about the text in the article describing it. I must have misunderstood the rules when uploading it, and since I don't want to break any laws I voted for deleting it. Spiby 12:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

An unregistered user asks for a favour edit

You seem to be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Finland. So could you create a related category, Category:Finnish short story writers? It should be a subcategory of Category:Finnish writers and Category:Short story writers by nationality. The category is going to be similar to Category:Norwegian short story writers. 82.203.170.153 (talk) 00:23, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done, thanks for your suggestion! You might want to consider creating an account, seeing your helpful contributions. Spiby 16:16, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pardon Me edit

On a hunch that you wanted to make your page a "No-Smoking" page, I went ahead and added a little "No-Smoking" button to the top-right corner of your userpage: (User:Spiby/corner). If you want to change this, go ahead and revert. RbpolsenTalk to me! 06:30, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The new logo for WPSweden edit

Hello, saw that you just changed the logo for WikiProject Sweden in the project's template. The new logo looks quite OK, but the change puzzled me for a while, since I was just in the process of completing the assessment of partially assessed articles within the project. Thus, I had a lot of tabs open, and suddenly the project template looked different in one of the tabs. My first reaction was "what, are there more than one version of the template?" and it took me a while to pinpoint the reason. :-) Tomas e (talk) 18:10, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I changed it because I felt it's pointless to have two images of the Swedish flag in the same template (the other one being the portal image). The logo was created by someone else a long time ago, but I only noticed it today and thought it was sad that such a nice logo was largely unused. Tack för meddelandet :) Spiby 18:16, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Help request from an Italian user edit

Good afternoon, I'm a user from the Italian Wikipedia. I am writing to you because I've found you user-page in the Swedish-native speakers page, and I've seen that you are more active at the moment in the English Wikipedia project.

I'm working for the medicine project to a page on the interactions between the use of drugs in pregnancy and the appearance of malformations (teratogenesis). I have seen that one Swedish organization, the FASS, has compiled a classification of drugs use during pregnancy (with categories such as A, B, C, X etc.). Unfortunately, the FASS homepage is exclusively in Swedish. I've been watching everywhere for documents about that categorisation (the criteria of categorisation and a list of the different drugs with their class) in English and/or other languages I can understand, but my researches were frustrated.

So, I am wondering if you will be so kind to send me an email with a translation of these infos, or - if you have not enough time, also a link to the specific files in Swedish I need (I will translate them in some way...). You can send me your reply at my talk page in the Italian wikipedia, or at my e-mail address: anassagora_athenet[at]yahoo.it

(Please give me a reply even if you cannot/do not want to help me :) )

Thank you very much, Anassagora (talk) 17:42, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I left a reply at it:Discussioni utente:Anassagora#Re:Help request Spiby 07:42, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
(conflict)Thank you for your ready reply. Don't worry for writing in English in my talk page, it's fine ^^. I'm sorry to make you "waste" your time (helping with a Wikipedia edit is never a waste of time :)).
All right, I will explain myself better. I'm preparing a general page on the different classifications (in my it:Utente:Anassagora/Sandbox02). There, I need some hystorical info on the classification of the FASS, and a table (as there is also in wikipedia.en for other classifications here) with the different criteria of classification (dangerous, positive/negative experiments, whatever). They should have one on their website (do not worry for the copyright, I'll rewrite that - only send me on my email, because on wp it would be deleted).
Then, if it's possible, I would need a pdf, table, whatever, with the drugs with specifications of the pregnancy category they're in. (or at least, a link to the search page of the database, I'll manage in some way to understand what I'm looking for - perhaps a chance to start learning some Swedish :) )
Again, thanks a lot for your help, hope I'll be able to return you this favour.

Thanks for the clarification! I found this article at FASS. The relevant sections start at "Gruppering av läkemedel för bruk före och under graviditet" (scroll down a bit). this pdf decribes the same system but in fewer words. I won't have time to translate it today, but will attempt to do so in the next few days. However, if you find someone who knows both Italian and Swedish it might be better to ask them, so that the meaning of the text is not lost during translation via English. I will leave you a message when I've translated the text. Have a nice day! Spiby 08:43, 10 April 2009 (UTC) (Oh, and it should be Farmaceutiska Specialiteter i Sverige not Farmavectiska like it says in your Sandbox :) )Reply
Your help is very important and useful to me. I can't do anything but thanking you a thousand times! Thanks for the links. As it concerns the translation, I prefer to have a good English translation than a rough Italian one ;) (I saw you're both Swedish and English, so, you're the best one to do that). For the mistake, thank you for noticing it: I copied it from an official Italian document about that, but it was mistaking (Italian translators, bah! :) )Anassagora (talk) 11:00, 10 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anassagora (talkcontribs)
