Anushilan Samiti
Are you kidding? Since when have Shibdas Ghosh's self published speech and his party's office secretary's obituary become independent, reliable, third party sources ( to make Shibdas Ghosh and Nihar Mukherjee notable Jugantar members)?180.149.48.245 (talk) 04:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- 'Notable members' in this context can have two different meanings. Either it can refer to people who were prominent figures within the movement, or it can refer to notable people who were members of the movement. - Are you saying that the claim that Ghosh was in Anushilan is a hoax? Considering the SUCI's roots in RSP, it would seem rather obvious to assume that the founders of SUCI had in fact belonged to Anushilan. I see no reason to question the accuracy of the 'claim' of Ghosh and SUCI in this case. - I agree that SUCI sources in their own publications and also in some online forums claim that Shibdas Ghosh had joined Anushilan Samiti. I have not found it mentioned in any reliable third part sources. I do not know whether the 13 year old Shibdas Ghosh joining Anushilan Samiti is of any significance. It may or may not be a hoax; but in the absence of this fact being mentioned in any reliable sources discussing Anushilan Samiti, I feel we need not mirror the SUCI claims in this article. 180.149.48.245 (talk) 13:25, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Two points; 1) regarding both Ghosh/Anushilan and Proletarian Era, I get the feeling that your edits and comments are marked by anttipathy for the party itself. Please note that having an article of PE or mentioning a biographical detail on Ghosh is not really an endorsement of the party. PE is far from the most notable English publication, but the practice at Wikipedia is general liberal enough to keep an article of a weekly/biweekly newspaper which is documented across decades and with national coverage. 2) As per Ghosh and Anushilan: http://books.google.com/books?id=HRAtAAAAIAAJ "Responding to the call of the Anushilan Samity, at the early age of thirteen, he plunged into politics. ... - 1. You are wrong; please AGF. I was looking at the Anushilan Samiti page and saw the photographs of two "prominent" members. It was obviously an attempt by someone pushing the SUCI interests here. 2. My previous comments were all about the sources you had produced earlier. They were not acceptable. Now there are some independent sources for the Anushilan Samiti connection. I am not sure they are reliable and I have not seen these books in their entirety. However I agree that this is not a situation requiring exceptional sources. But my opinion about the notability of PE still stands. Baath party
there seems to have been a suggestion from you, some years ago actually, about splitting the Baath page for Iraq and Syria, no one responded (which should have been reason enough to assume, Consensus cant wait forever). But anyhoo, i think it should be split off and responded there. - I would suggest the following scheme: Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party (1940) for the Iraq-based party, Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party (1968) for the Syria-based party and Ba'athism as the general main article (describing the ideology and joint history). --Soman (talk) 15:16, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
