File:HNLMS Evertsen participating in open waters.jpg edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:16, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:HNLMS Evertsen participating in open waters.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:HNLMS Evertsen participating in open waters.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:39, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Signature edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as the Help Desk, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:32, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is just for me edit

Welcome to Milhist! edit

G'day SjoerdvDonk, and welcome to WikiProject Military history! I noticed your work on HNLMS Holland (P840) and wanted to say what a great job you're doing with it. I've assessed it as Start-Class for now, but it wouldn't take much more to be C-Class. I see you've already signed up for the Bugle, which is a great idea as it is an excellent way to get a feel for the project. Once you are happy with any article you've worked on, you can ask for a re-assessment of it at WP:MHAR, where you may also get some constructive feedback, often from others working in a similar area. You might also like to enter any such articles in our monthly article writing contest at WP:MILCON. If you have any questions about the project or about Milhist assessment processes, feel free to contact me on my talk page anytime. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:54, 27 September 2018 (UTC) for the project coordinatorsReply

Thanks! Looking forward to write some requested articles ASAP!!! Stuart (talk) 12:49, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Stuart, when you're working on Dutch ship articles, I suggest you include the sort of information under Design and construction as you will see at HMS Liverpool (C11) or similar articles. It is important that information in the infobox is also covered in the body of the article. Two of our resident gurus on warship articles are @Parsecboy and Sturmvogel 66:, I'm sure either of them would be glad to provide advice on development of ship articles. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:50, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Stuart, check out WP:SHIPS for more general info and resources for writing ship articles and WP:SHIPMOS for info on how to best format a ship article. The former has a long list of WP:Featured Articles (the best-written and researched articles on Wiki) that you can use as a model on how to structure and cite your ship articles. Let me know if you have any questions about all this stuff, it can be overwhelming sometimes.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 12:32, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Frigate edit

Hi, just out of curiosity, when you added this image to the Frigate article, why did you add those "<nowiki>" tags? - wolf 23:31, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I don’t know actually, I guess I was confused. Doesn’t make any sense to do that, right?! Stuart (talk) 10:04, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
