Hypotyposis moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Hypotyposis, is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. There are large sections which are wholly uncited. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Or feel free to ping me to take another look.Onel5969 TT me 14:23, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

As far as I concern I really do not agree with moving the article to the draftspace, it is not justified as there are already more 40 references and around 10 bibliographic sources. Shellypls (talk) 01:49, 22 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you are going to be slapping up 'translated' articles from French-wiki to English-wiki, the least you could do is fix all the citations. The HARVTXT citations you have in the article do not work correctly. Please fix them. Grorp (talk) 02:23, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unnecessary blocked of IP address from editing Wikipedia edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Shellypls (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 38.43.130.189

Decline reason:

Since technically you can edit via other IPs, I have to procedurally decline the request. Lifting a block like this is rather difficult without being really good at network engineering and able to argue about whether it really is configured as a proxy (And, unfortunately, other people's use of VPN/proxies on adjacent IPs can make yours appear to be on it. I'd tell your ISP about this.

All this is not to say there is nothing we—or rather you—can do. The best option is to go to WP:IPECPROXY and follow those instructions to request IP block exemption via email. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:42, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

.

The IP address or range 38.43.130.189 has been blocked (disabled) by ‪ST47ProxyBot‬ for the following reason(s):The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be used by a peer-to-peer proxy service. These services allow users to change their IP address by proxying their browsing traffic through another user's computer. As with any open or anonymizing proxy or VPN service, these IPs may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

However, I have never used any VPN or proxy service, I would like my account to be unblocked in order to go on my work and contribute Wikipedia articles as a translator. If there is any appeal or something that I can do to have my able account again, please, let me know. Thank you! Shellypls (talk) 03:07, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Pbritti: Hi, @Pbritti. Yes, I'm paid by OKA, but I'm free to choose which articles to translate within a given indiscriminate list. Moreover, I'm paid TO TRANSLATE, but not on a specific or given topic. The website is available on my user page and @OKA always try to keep everything transparent. Apart from that, I'm a translator, I'm not a writer or any similar to that, it means I ONLY TRANSLATE existing wiki articles, I don't create any of them from scratch. Horse articles edit

Hi, I see you are creating several horse breed articles. First off, welcome! But please, we have a longstanding standard for writing these, and you will save us a lot of cleanup if you could do a few things differently. We have guidelines at our horse breeds task force page. A couple main ones: First off, we use the (horse) disambiguator for named individual animals—not breeds. For breeds, we use “horse” or “pony” as part of the title—so I moved Yushu (horse) to Yushu horse. Second, we are careful not to create content forks for strains within existing breeds…for example, I also put a merge tag on Yushu horse to merge it with Tibetan pony—if one is a substrain of the other, then they need to be combined (as we did with Alter Real and Lusitano.) Third, if you do add a new article to the List of horse breeds, please put it in alphabetical order within the proper category—not in the “See also” section (I did this for you with Miquelon horse. Also, we usually put various navboxes, infoboxes and specific categories with each horse breed article; I recommend you look at our featured articles for examples—Andalusian horse is a nice example, or Thoroughbred. I don’t edit WP as much as I used to, but you can post at my talkpage and that will ping me on email. Or, you can seek guidance from Wikiproject Equine if anyone is around there. Users @Ealdgyth: or @Justlettersandnumbers: are also around more than I am and may be of further assistance. I hope this is useful to you, and I encourage your efforts. July 2023 edit

  Hi Shellypls! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Translating titles edit

I notice you are creating many horse articles translated from the French Wikipedia. I request that you include English translations of source titles by using the |trans-title= parameter in your citations. Here is one example which I made to illustrate how to use |trans-title=. Thank you. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 01:14, 11 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

See-also sections edit

I recommend you read MOS:SEEALSO, specifically "Links in this section should be relevant". I know you are translating horse articles from French Wikipedia, then I notice you going back and adding all your articles to the "See also" sections of the earlier articles. For example, you linked (bi-directionally) two 1800s French trotters to a mid-1900s Russian stallion, and none of the articles had anything in common with each other. This is an inappropriate use of the See also section. Please limit your additions to the See also section to Wikipedia articles that are relevant. Thank you. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 01:30, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Thank you for your recommendation, I truly appreciate it. I'll take it into account for my future articles and I'll edit the last ones to improve the "See also" section. Shellypls (talk) 02:15, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. You might want to look at some of the navigational templates, which help to link together "collections" of articles. For example, Template:Equus (genus) for the "Horses in country X" articles, Template:Horse breeds of France (and many others) for lists of breeds by a particular country. I'm not sure if there are any templates made that compile collections of individual horses or foundation stallions. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:26, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Templates for named horses edit

For horse articles, please use Template:Infobox named horse or Template:Infobox racehorse rather than Template:Infobox animal. For horses, you should be using a template which uses the words "sire" and "dam" and "foaled", not "parent" and "child" and "born". Please edit the articles you have created about horses to use the appropriate infobox, including your recent The Norfolk Phœnomenon. Also, you should put each parameter on a separate line and not all bunched together. Thanks.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 21:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your recommendation, I really appreciate it. Shellypls (talk) 21:58, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have never seen infoboxes bunched up before. They are always put one item on a line, like this.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 22:22, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand what you mean by "on a line" since I see both edits (mine and yours) similar. My edit is on a line, as you mention, it is not "bunched up". Shellypls (talk) 22:37, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is almost impossible to read (parameters bunched together):

{{Short description|French trotting race mare}}{{Infobox named horse|horsename=Bayadère|image=Bayadère (1859 - 1972), jument trotteuse.jpg|sire=The Norfolk Phœnomenon|dam=Bayadère|sex=Male|foaled=Roquelaure, Galathée, and Orpheline|birth_place=Tournai-sur-Dive|death_date=1872|color=Bay}}

This is easier to read and understand (one parameter per line):

{{Short description|French trotting race mare}}
{{Infobox named horse
|horsename=Bayadère
|image=Bayadère (1859 - 1972), jument trotteuse.jpg
|sire=The Norfolk Phœnomenon
|dam=Bayadère
|sex=Female
|foaled=Roquelaure, Galathée, and Orpheline
|birth_place=Tournai-sur-Dive
|death_date=1872
|color=Bay
}}

Hi Shellypls. Thank you for your work on Water agency (France). Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for bringing this translation to Wikipedia. For future articles in English, note that the 'See also' section is for listing other Wikipedia articles (not the Bibliography); it's also helpful to use the most specific category possible. I considered moving the article to Water agency, but perhaps its best kept where it is for now as there are other European boards that might reasonably have pages here (like the Spanish one). Remember to link it from other pages to integrate it into the project (I've done so from Water board).
