Introductions: Dab edit

hello Seth, and welcome to Wikipedia; you can sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), which will make them easier to attribute, and put your talkpage within one mouseclick. Regarding Zweihänder, I am sure we can reach an agreement. I am aware of the extended discussions on swordforum.com, and have been meaning to exploit them for the article for some time. Clearly, the "spear-cutting" has not much credibility, and I am happy to go from "Some scholars suggest that this is a latter-day legend" to "Most scholars". It would however be best to compile a proper "References" section to refer to. I do maintain that the point needs to be addressed, if only because so much ink has been spilled to dispel it. I am also aware of the discussions about the Goliath swords. This is a matter of terminology. The swords are Zweihänder by size, but they lack the characteristic ornaments. As with any sword classification system, there will be specimens that fall between categories, because transitions are seamless. I will not insist the Goliath swords "are" Zweihänder at all, but they certainly deserve discussion or mention on the Zweihänder article. I am not sure what other points you refer to, but you are most welcome to add more material and references. I reverted much of your edit because you removed information. The Marx brothers are certainly on topic. Of course they were founded in the 15th century, but they were very much alive in the heyday of the Zweihänder, and the Doppelsöldner constitute a direct link between the brotherhood and the Zweihänder used (or carried about, as the case may be) in warfare. regards, dab () 20:03, 19 December 2005 (UTC) PS, re your question of "who are you", here is a link to my SFI user page. dab () 20:09, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Adoption edit

Hello, Sethwoodworth! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia! --Daniel Olsen 02:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Adoptee edit

Well, who replies where is a bit fuzzy. Some people like to keep conversation in one place or the other, and some people reply both on their talk page and on the other person's, but those of us who don't like double posting or having to use a watchlist too much just always post to the other person's talk page, which has the convinience of puttting that nice orange reminder at the top of any page you go to. As long as you're not deleting comments, you can pretty much converse however you'd like. --Daniel Olsen 01:34, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Olliver Kirby edit

Sorry about the page for Olliver Kirby, some asshole put up personal opinions about it, I will delete it and keep it as a nuetral article about a guitarist. I will try to put more sources and links. I started the page a little while ago, and I'm didn't even finish the first band. Please remove the speedy deletion thing. This is and should be a nuetral article about a mediocre artist. If you don't believe me you can check the site history. No Hard Feelings? Wikimindless 19:41, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

P.S. the page isn't an autobiography

P.S.S. It is possible that user:wormdoggy is... well, maybe biased

Oh well, guess it's too late for that now, all hard work for nothingWikimindless 04:36, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moses Lake edit

No problem, Sethwoodworth. My last edit to the article was copy-editing the shooting paragraph. I agree the shooting could be handled better.

Do you live in Moses Lake? I grew up there, and attended kindergarten through 12th grade in ML schools. I graduated from high school in 1966 and have lived in various places since.

In case you didn't see this on my page:

Sorry for the late reply, but I've been sick. I lived in Cascade Valley. Rick Rosenow was a close neighbor and Clifford Horn, before he drowned right after high school, was a more distant neighbor. His mother Jody and my mother Dorothy were close frieds. --Rbraunwa 23:35, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group edit

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 01:08, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Restoration of deleted article edit

Hello, Seth. On 19 March you proposed Brian R Price for deletion. It was duly deleted, but now an editor has requested undeletion, so I have restored the article. The notability does not seem convincing, and you may wish to consider taking it to Articles for deletion if you still think it should be deleted. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:14, 1 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for prompting me to undelete the talk page, which I had forgotten to do. Reading the talk page I see the above message was probably unnecessary. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:41, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
