Edit summaries and intent

As per the various notes from myself and other editors, you please need to stop misrepresenting your edits as mere "tweaks" or "copyedits". Or, in many cases, with no explanation or edit summary at all. It is quite clear that you are engaging in some kind of crusade (to rid Wikipedia of perceived negative terms relating to Britain's colonial or military history). And that you are doing so in a way which is not transparent is not in keeping with the norms expected of editors. For example, after each of the following changes:

• [1] George Washington isn't contending with a "British military occupation" but "British refusal to evacuate their forts"
• [2] Attrocities during the Revolutionary War are not perpetuated by "British soldiers" but by "[unnamed] regulars".
• [3] White South Africans are not descendants of English-speaking "British colonists" but of "British settlers"
• [4] Mercenary Alfred Taylor is no longer a "British Army officer" but an "Irish officer in the British Army". Also, Zimbabwe is no longer subject to "British invasion and conquest", Taylor's actions no longer British war crimes, and "British rule" is now "colonial rule" (from some unnamed colonial power).
• [5] In the film, two characters no longer find commonality in their shared "hatred of the British" but in the shared "appreciation for each other's culture".
• [6] In the book, the main character no longer has issues with the "British colonial regime" but with "British colonial authorities"
• [7] In the book, the author no longer explores the influence of "British colonialism" but of "European colonialism"
• [8] Here the "native tribes" are no longer engaging with "English colonists" just "nearby colonists"
• [9] In the Antebellum South, the mercantilists are miraculously no longer British, Britain is no longer benefitting from the tobacco plantations, and the colonies are now "American colonies" (rather than British)
• [10] Here the Boston Massacre no longer involves a "British squad" but an "eight-man squad". And they are now shooting "angered American colonists". (Because being angry is justification for being killed?)
• [11] In the context of Evacuation Day, its no longer a "British occupation" but an "occupation".
• [12] In 1940, Britain no longer (actively) violates Greenland's neutrality, but Greenland's neutrality is (passively) violated by the Royal Navy.
• [13] Caroline Elkins' PhD dissertation is no longer about British colonial authorities, or British colonial violence, or "those tortured under British rule". Just "authorities", "violence" and "those tortured during the uprising". By some unnamed passive actor.

None of these changes are simply "tweaks" or "copyedits". They are material changes in meaning.

Clearly you have seen the notes from other editors. Reminding you of the policies about avoiding misleading or misrepresentative edit summaries. If you continue (to edit without consideration to policies or other editors' attempts to draw your attention to those policies), then I will shortly be escalating this for broader attention. Bye.
