Some important guidelines edit

Hi Based on your recent edits I think these links will be helpful to you. Please read them carefully.

  • MOS:TV - Manual of Style for Television
  • Template:Infobox television - Information about the parameters to be used in the television article infobox
  • WP:NOTTVGUIDE - Wikipedia is not TV guide so we don't add information like Time slots and other airing history
  • WP:CRYSTAL- Wikipedia is Not Crystal ball so we don't add scheduled or expected future events like adding end date of the series before the actual date and updating episodes in advance.

Thanks. Sid95Q (talk) 04:26, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pending changes reviewer granted edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Reporting User Sid95Q edit

I am not sure what the role of this user Sid95Q is or how much of knowledge or training he has - to moderate but it’s very poor. At first for all the edits I did were ignored and was reverted back even though I provided necessary source links. My latest changes on ‘Super30’ page after doing 2 hour research (since I liked the plot of the movie) I updated content based on facts. But everything was reverted back. This has now discouraged me from making any changes in future but I thought I should let you know so others still keep updating and not feel like waste of time. @Ckamani: In your edit at Super 30 you have changed reliable source to unreliable. Please check WP:RS for WP policy on citing sources. Rickyurs (talk) 07:17, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Ckamani: Please check this edit In this edit you have changed source from British Board of Film Classification to IMDb. The board which has certified the film is reliable source for running time then IMDb. Please avoid poor or unreliable sources. Rickyurs (talk) 07:26, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rollback granted edit

Hi Rickyurs. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2019-12-09. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 08:45, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled granted edit

Hi Rickyurs, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Go Phightins! 02:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Questions on AGB Nielsen viewership edit

@Rickyurs: Hi, would like to enquiry you on how you differentiate between the parts of each of episode when checking the ratings on AGB Nielsen? Take Penthouse: War in Life (Season 1) episode 1 for example as listed on Wikipedia, part 1 is 6.7%, part 2 is 9.2%, and part 3 is 9.1%. However, on AGB Nielsen, it[1] didn't mention which part is 1 or 2 or 3 hence how do I know which is correct? Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:07, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Paper9oll: Hello! In such cases I usually refer to associated news items for reference. For example Racket Boys, which is aired in 3 parts, ratings on AGB Nielsen for June 1, are as: these. As you have rightly observed there is no mention of part with the ratings. So if we refer to news item which gives ratings as: 4.0% in Part 1, 5.4% in Part 2, and 4.7% in Part 3 clarifies the situation. This way an editor can know which ratings belong to which part. Thanks and regards. Rickyurs (talk) 04:11, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Rickyurs: Understood. In case where the episode didn't enter Top 20 and the news didn't report on it, what should be included instead. As I saw, some drama episodes, the ratings is likely too low to enter the Top 20 ratings chart however somehow the editors manage to get the numbers even though the news media didn't reported it. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 04:20, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Paper9oll: I also have observed the same. I wonder where do they get the numbers and why don't they put the source. Some people may have subscribed to AGB Nielsen or TNmS by paying subscription and have access to complete chart by logging in. As for me, in such cases I usually put NA template. Rickyurs (talk) 04:32, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Rickyurs: Ok understood. Thanks you for the information and guidance. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 04:38, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Temu flag fixes edit

Hi, I have posted Talk:Temu (company)#Request for more clean up and removing flag to ask for fixes to the page about Temu (company), the most downloaded app in the United States the last few months. [2] These tiny fixes address the last issues needed to remove the flag. . I have a conflict of interest as an employee of Temu and I would very much appreciate it if you might have time to take a look. Since you are a member of the WikiProject for Internet Culture, I thought you might possibly be interested in this internet cultural moment. [3], [4]. This page is in need of careful expansion in compliance with Wikipedia policy (and there is plenty of press coverage) but getting rid of the last tiny policy violations is a good place to start.

Thanks in advance for your consideration! Snowy2000 (talk) 02:18, 9 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

ITN recognition for 73rd Berlin International Film Festival edit

On 2 March 2023, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, which you created. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. —Bagumba (talk) 19:02, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Being on ITN automatically disqualifies it from DYK. Congratulations anyway! BorgQueen (talk) 00:23, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Rickyurs. I've been trying to find where you achieved a consensus to add image boxes to the Incubments section of gov't leaders in the 2024 in sovereign state pages. Example - 2024 in Mexico. Orphaned non-free image File:Little Women (2022) poster.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Little Women (2022) poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 00:17, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

New page reviewer granted edit

Hi Rickyurs. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. – Joe (talk) 08:24, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024 edit

Hello Rickyurs,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
