Hi Ray,

After reading Sweeney Todd by Peter Haining, I came across your article and realized that someone had probably altered it incorrectly. I have edited the date of birth and death of Sweeney to the dates mentioned in the book. However I have tried to check Haining's claims and many of the items mentioned such as Daily Courant newspaper reports do not exist as far as I can see as the Daily Courant had changed it's name long before 1875. I have checked a number of databases without success if you have anymore info please contact me.

Thank you. I need help! It's the first image I have uploaded and I found the process somewhat confusing re copyright. I just went back to the source and if you follow the download photos link, it goes to a section about MacArthuer Fellows images and it has this: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. I think somewhere I should have put that on the image details? But I followed the instructions which relate to publishing my the media and it says just to quote the copyright notice which says "...used with permission" - can you advise what to do? I don't really understand about replacement with a free image, only others I can see are on news sites where presumably they are copyright of the website owners. The MacArthur site seemed to be the correct source to use. I am pushed for time to make sure I comply before Saturday deadline since I am travelling/working. Thanks for your note. I can see that there is indeed a free license for the images on the site. So this image is acceptable. There should have been an option for a CC-BY-SA 4.0 license when you uploaded the image. I will update the image to reflect the correct licensing. Images and licensing can get very confusing om Wikipedia. For future reference, if you get confused or have questions, you can post at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Image cropping

Hi,

I saw you uploaded a cropped version of the file. I reverted it for a couple of reasons. The primary reason is that the crop was from the lower resolution image. I've uploaded a much higher resolution image and that should be the source for the crop. As well, it;s a significant crop, so I would suggest that the image be uploaded as a new file with a name like "File:Sarah T Stewart planetary scientist McArthur Fellow Sept 2018.jpg (cropped)". Finally, as a free image, the preferred location for uploading these files is Wikimedia Comons. Files at Commons are accessible to all Wikimedia sister projects including Wikipedias in other languages. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 19:24, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! I had a message from a bot saying the image was too big, that's why I uploaded the cropped version. But I think you are correct I believe I changed the resolution also. I just wanted to thank you again for pointing out the free license for images on the MacArthur Foundation web site. It's a great source for high-quality freely licensed images. MacArthur Foundation images

I just found out there may me issues with the licensing on the MacArthur Foundation images. See this Commons discussion. I have removed the image from Sarah T. Stewart-Mukhopadhyay for now. Zamora

I removed the wikilinks because they are essentially redirects to the article already wikilinked in the same sentence a bit below, with clear explanation: "Smallest Set of Smallest Rings (SSSR), [2] a cheminformatics term for the minimal cycle basis of a molecular graph". Anyway, I've read around and I think I will write a separate article about SSSR, an an application of minimal cycle basis in cheminformatics. Staszek Lem (talk) 21:37, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, I hadn't noticed the other link to cycle basis page. Great if you could make an SSSR article. Problem with Zamora's article is that Google is really awful to try to find old stuff and Zamora is a really common name. I think I will stick to non bio's, my interest is trying to write about historical software/hardware etc. before it's all forgotten :) I had come across Zamora's work many times in the past, but trying to find it online now is too time consuming. Noted on talk page of Plimsoll, that a note in 2013 disputed use of term 'devised'. Refers to a John Hall as true inventor?

Search online gets: Founded in Newcastle in 1864 by the brothers John and James Hall. James was a forward looking shipowner and was the first to set up a Merchant Navy training establishment with the ship Wellesley moored at North Shields. He was also instrumental in instigating load lines in ships. By 1867 the brothers owned 16 sailing ships and 3 steamers.
