The list...

Don't worry about it, at least the FL made the article better and gave us useful feedback for the future. Over time we can make these improvements. The article is way better now than it ever was. — R2 12:23, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

140 million

You should probably read the thread on my talk page about the sales of Thriller. It might be on the safe side to take sales back down to 109 million, like I've done on the list of best selling albums worldwide. — R2 20:02, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I see, will do that now. Pyrrhus16 20:06, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Blood on the Dance Floor (song)

Hi, the above article is up for GA and the reviewer is asking for an image of Jackson and the woman (at the table), could you upload such an image? I'm not very good at it, but I've seen you upload images well. Try to get an image that illustrates best what's mentioned in the prose. Thanks. — R2 14:21, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Couldn't find a good one of the dancing on the table, but upload one of the two dancing together. Pyrrhus16 17:01, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Nice picture, thanks. — R2 17:13, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Billie Jean

Hey, I've reviewed the GAN for Billie Jean. Very nice work; I have a small amount of suggestions that won't take long to address. --Hunter Kahn (talk) 04:26, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Well done, your first GA! :) — R2 22:41, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the help guys. :) Pyrrhus16 11:05, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
You going to get it to FA? — R2 11:33, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll have to take it to WP:PR first though, right? Pyrrhus16 11:42, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. Good luck. — R2 11:44, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Pyrrhus16 13:15, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Prince (musician)

Hi, could you stick this article on your watchlist. A lot of unsourced cruft is being added. I've watchlisted it too. Cheers. — R2 16:29, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Done. Pyrrhus16 16:31, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

re:userpage.

Knock yourself out: it isn't original work anyway. I stole it from David Fuchs, who stole it from AGK. Another thievery won't hurt. -- Sabre (talk) 19:54, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I'd suggest using different colours though, take a lookie over at web colors, you might find a hue you prefer to the one I chose. -- Sabre (talk) 00:24, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

HIStory/Ghosts

Hi, do you think you could find and add an image of the "HIStory" music video next to the relevant prose? If you've never seen the video before (it's quite rare) it's here. Personally I don't think there is a need for an image of "Ghosts", under fair use. It would makes more sense to add such an image to the article on the actual long film. What you think? — R2 17:11, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll see what I can find for it. Pyrrhus16 17:17, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Done. Pyrrhus16 18:03, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, hopefully another GA on the way. Not much info available on this song. — R2 18:08, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I couldn't find much on it in my books either. Pyrrhus16 18:15, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Oprah and MJ

Hey, that image you recently uploaded. Since it's not free you shouldn't have it in your user space (even your sandboxes). A bot will probably remove it and tag it for deletion. It's best to sought out fair use images after you have set up the main text into article space. You can always upload the image again latter if it gets deleted. :) — R2 15:31, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Just messaged you as well. I'm done with it now anyway :) Pyrrhus16 15:33, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I'll take a look, just remove that image from your user space, I spoke too soon lol. :) — R2 15:35, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Lol, done. Pyrrhus16 15:36, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK

Hope you don't mind me using you as a guinea pig. — R2 17:24, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

No problem at all. Great suggestion. :) Pyrrhus16 18:13, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

O2 Concerts

Since the 02 concerts seem a dead certainty at this point, get ready to make an article on it :) — R2 14:37, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I'd best get saving for the tickets. Hopefully MJ will mention a new album as well. Pyrrhus16 14:41, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I think "Off the Wall 30" is a dead cert for August/September 2009. So that will put further delays on a studio album. — R2 14:55, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I forget about that, I remember hearing that it was meant to be released in February. Anyway, if MJ doesnt name the tour, will Michael Jackson 02 concerts be a sufficient title for the article? I've made a start on the draft here, hopefully no one will beat me to it. Pyrrhus16 15:02, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
it would be "O2 arena", but yeah something like that. — R2 15:06, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Great, I'll keep an eye out on the news then. Pyrrhus16 15:10, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK

Nominated for DYK, if I've done it correctly, which I think I have, we will both get credit. We should try to format those references though. — R2 16:14, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Forgot all about DYK in the excitement of the conference :) Is the name of the concerts "This Is It: History in the Making"? I read it in the paper and a few sites are calling it that. Pyrrhus16 16:22, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, not sure, leave it for now, we can change it latter if needs be. — R2 18:23, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok :) Pyrrhus16 18:26, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Billie Jean

Well I did tell people about the peer review, but didn't get much feedback. I might be blocked (for a few days) soon, for "3RR", it depends on whether the admin reviewing the case is sane or insane. If so, I can still communicate with you on my talk page.If I'm blocked, I will leave sources on my talk page, for the tour article. If you could keep the article up to date and maintained, that would be appreciated. It's looking very good. Hopefully I won't be blocked, but half our admins have no sense, so who knows. Best. — R2 16:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll update the tour article. Thanks for putting the word out about the peer review as well. :) I'm just after seeing the edit war discussion, it's obvious the IP knew what he was doing. Let's hope the deciding admin has some common sense. :) Pyrrhus16 17:01, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Say Say Say entry

I revised the information under "Cover versions" that I added before. I've now included Kesang Marstrand's official website (http://www.kesangmarstrand.com/) which does indicate the song in her discography, but unfortunately does not contain an audio sample.

I strongly believe the other link that I provided would qualify as a reliable source, as it actually features an audio sample of the track by Kesang Marstrand that confirms beyond a doubt that it is a cover of the song. You can check out the link and listen for yourself: http://cdbaby.com/cd/kesang

Thanks. :)

RE: Say Say Say

Hey, thanks for responding so quickly. I really apologize if I seemed too pesky in adding that cover version info for the Wikipedia entry. It's just that I've always been an ardent supporter of up & coming independent music artists who have to rely primarily on self-promotion and word-of-mouth to get their music noticed.

Sometimes mentioning on Wikipedia that a singer or group did a cover of a popular song with a link to an audio sample on their official website can give them some extra exposure, as they probably can't afford the PR that major signed acts receive. If someone listens to their cover version, likes their sound and wants to hear more of their songs, that can only help their careers.

Teknocrat123 (talk) 10:09, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Re: Say Say Say - Kesang Marstrand's cover version

If Kesang Marstrand's official website isn't enough, would these additional links count?

http://www.shambhalasun.com/sunspace/?p=2962 http://slowcoustic.com/2009/02/23/if-you-havent-heard-kesang-marstrand-bodega-rose/ http://www.last.fm/music/Kesang+Marstrand

Although I doubt it would be considered valid, there's even a YouTube clip featuring her track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0NN4D2j5k4

If not, no worries. :)

Re: Say Say Say - Kesang Marstrand

I totally understand what you're saying...but logically, most indie artists (unless they're getting their big break) probably wouldn't be mentioned in major newspapers like the New York Times because they're not high profile superstars like Beyonce, Madonna, Justin Timberlake or U2.

Instead, they would get exposure either through small local newspapers, music magazines, or online news sites devoted to the indie music scene.

Hopefully in the future if I could find a source that qualifies. Thanks anyway. :) Teknocrat123 (talk) 10:28, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Talk:This Is It (Michael Jackson concerts)

Hi, I can't see what class and importance grade (for the MJ Wikiproject) you gave this article. I can only see by clicking "edit this page" and reading the wikitext. I'm having the same problem for other MJ articles. I noticed it last night, but it hasn't fixed. Is it just me? — R2 14:33, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, I can't see it either. It's not working on any of the other MJ articles either. Very strange, wonder what the problem is. Pyrrhus16 14:37, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Dunno, I'll check if other wikiprojects are having the same problem. — R2 14:40, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
If it was happening last night, there was some updating/maintenance going on. Wikipedia was in read-only mode and you couldn't edit. Pyrrhus16 14:45, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Found the source of the problem. — R2 14:57, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Ah, mystery solved. Pyrrhus16 15:06, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Say Say Say

Hey, done some cleaning, what you have is very good, I'm just concerned about the size. Me and you look for more info, if we can't find any, submit to GAN. — R2 17:14, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

I'll have another look through Google News and Google Books. Pyrrhus16 17:20, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
I had a look, couldn't find anything alse. Pyrrhus16 18:28, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
The Girl Is Mine is fine, and long enough for GA. Feel free to submit it when your ready, just don't over burden yourself. I'll start looking for extra info on Say Say Say. You'll probably be up early trying to get tickets. Best of luck. I probably won't be online till 1pm. — R2 00:31, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
I'll submit it now. My uncle got the tickets! I don't know what date they're for but I'll let you know later on. :) Pyrrhus16 07:42, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Yay, well done. Make sure you take a digital camera. We need photo's for Wikipedia ;D — R2 11:52, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Hopefully the camera will have a good zoom lens, I think this is the view I get from my seat. I'm going to the August 3 show. Pyrrhus16 19:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Lol, you would think the stage could have gone in the middle. — R2 19:57, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll need to get the binoculars out. Pyrrhus16 20:25, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Also, at some point I need to update the referencing formatting on the Michael Jackson article. I need to change the dates to the format "March 13, 2008". Currently there are all in odd numerals, which is outdated. Further only one publisher (the first time it's used), needs Wikilinking. Basically, it needs a facelift. It's a big job, will take a few weeks if we pace ourselves. Could you help me? — R2 02:23, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll help with the refs. Pyrrhus16 07:42, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks — R2 11:52, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
The formatting is done, someone made a bot that could do it for me :) — R2 19:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Awesome. That would have took ages to do without a bot. :) Pyrrhus16 19:06, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

MJ filmography

Well no-one responded to my first requests of a copy edit, so I'm asking more people now. I haven't been editing much today because I got a Playstation 3! — R2 19:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

User:Iridescent is taking a look now. :) — R2 19:49, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I've never played the PS3, I only have a PS2. I'm thinking of getting a Nintendo Wii though - they're awesome. :) Pyrrhus16 19:54, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
My friend says the Wii is very good. — R2 19:55, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, they are. I'm always using my cousin's. Pyrrhus16 19:57, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Irid copy edited it and added a few further thoughts here. — R2 21:05, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Cheers, will fix those concerns. Pyrrhus16 21:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Auction

Were you intending to write an article about that MJ auction? I found this. — R2 14:49, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm just writing it now. I was going to put something about MJ filing legal action against them for the DYK, until I found this article. :o Pyrrhus16 14:55, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Lol. I've changed the table on "This Is It", what do you think? — R2 14:59, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Much better, it was awful before. Pyrrhus16 15:02, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

RE: Say Say Say

I saw your message on R2's page, and I just wanted to tell you that I am a GA reviewer, and I would no doubt pass that article. It's well-written, well sourced and isn't short at all. Other articles are MUCH shorter, and what most GA reviewers tend to forget with GA reviews about songs is that it's the GA criteria, not the FA criteria. But then again, maybe that's just me. Have a nice day. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 17:02, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much :) I thought it was short until I seen Ydalir lol. Pyrrhus16 17:05, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Heal the World

Might interest you. — R2 19:26, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Interesting, I hope the song does get dedicated to him. I'll sign the petiton if I can find the Facebook page. Pyrrhus16 19:47, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I've spent 15 mins trying, can't find it, it might be worth adding to the Heal the World article. — R2 19:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Definitely, will do that now. :) Pyrrhus16 19:52, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Added. :) Pyrrhus16 20:01, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Billie Jean is a funk-disco song

Ok, I will add references to the article, about Billie Jean and its genre. You are right, I must add references about Billie Jean is funk or funk-disco. Billie Jean is also considered R&B or R&B-disco. The article says: "Billie Jean is considered a dance-pop R&B song". It's not true, because the term "dance" was not used in 1982, 1983. The term "dance" is used since 1985. Billie Jean is funk or funk-disco, not dance-pop.

Interesting. Are we assuming it's Bill Bottrell himself? Hopefully he'll come back and reveal who he is. Pyrrhus16 16:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
I think it might be, or at least someone editing on his behalf. — R2 17:20, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

The Girl is Mine on hold

Hey there! The article has been placed on hold, for two concerns. Please view the talkpage for details. Good luck! CarpetCrawler (talk) 21:42, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations! The article has passed, great job! CarpetCrawler (talk) 22:25, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations on another GA. I always liked the McCartney/Jackson duo, so I'm glad to see these articles in such great shape. One thing I wanted to mention, though, is that the main infobox image for The Girl is Mine doesn't have a fair use rationale. GaryColemanFan (talk) 22:53, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

List of Michael Jackson performances

I kind of thing this article is redundant and unnecessary. What do you think? — R2 00:36, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, it's not really needed. I guess it could be redirected to List of Michael Jackson tours. Pyrrhus16 11:33, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
I would say about 35% of these performances are actually mentioned in the main biography. It might be worth redirecting to Michael Jackson believe it or not. Hmm... — R2 18:21, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that should do. :) Pyrrhus16 18:25, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
I'll redirect it now. — R2 18:35, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
