I accept your explanation and I apologize for my comments. I have removed my allegation from IZAK's talk page, and Pir is welcome to remove this section from his page as well. If he chooses to do so, I will remove his comments from my talk page as well. --Viriditas 09:04, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hi Pir. You're right, I'll cool it and discuss the edits. :). But I won't stop doing significant work on that article. Cheers. --style 05:31, 2004 Oct 19 (UTC)

I am very happy that a far-leftist or muslem which you are, isnwt a sysop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amirpedia (talkcontribs) .

<sarcasm> Amirpedia, the reason for that is that we extremists need not bother with Wikipedia anymore because we are currently busy taking control of world power ...</sarcasm>
Your thoroughly racist assumption of Muslims as one monolithic bloc of identical political persuasion is duly noted. Please refrain from defacing my talk page with such in the future. pir 15:03, 17 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pir, given the subjects on your userpage - what's the planned subject of your PhD? I keep discovering that the molecular biology side of Wikipedia is in need of serious attention... JFW | T@lk 16:15, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Pir, thanks for your kind comments on my talk page. I want to wish you good luck on your PhD, and I hope to see you around when you are able to find the time. --Viriditas 10:13, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

GC IV edit

What do you think it needs? Philip Baird Shearer 23:10, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)

See Talk:Fourth Geneva Convention Philip Baird Shearer 19:22, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

A bit of history on the page for you. If you look at the talk page originally GCIV was a tool used to bash Israel. I added most of the headings so that it demphasesed the articles which the edit wars were about. I then added the sections at the begining so that people who scaned the article would realise that many people try to use it in arguments in ways which are just plane incorrect.

people use it as a bludgen in an argument without ever reading it. It is really about protecting a population which is in enemy occupied territory. It is a rather blunt insturement to beat the American administration with about their war on terrorism. So I have tried to explain those sections which I have included in Unlawful combatant mercenaries torture (Stress and duress) Laws of war etc.

Originally I snipped most of the titles in Sectioin IV but someone else inserted them. Life is too short to get into an edit war over such things.

So please read the treaty and add what you think is needed to be added and subtracted and then remove the "This article is in need of attention." or just remove it, because as it is at the moment it depreciats the aricle. Thanking you in anticipation. Philip Baird Shearer 21:27, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing edit

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Situation of administrator abuse edit

Hi, I'm in a potentially awkward position with an Administrator. I have read the Wiki pages on dispute resolution but I'm still not sure how to proceed.

The Admin ContiE has a personal grudge against me for reasons I do not fully understand. He has been this way since I began frequenting wikipedia.

I have done work improving the furvert article. He has basically gone on a crusade against any edit I make. He controls every furry category article and several others ruthlessly. He is an iron fist and bans anyone he edit wars with. I had uploaded pictures and he deleted them with no talking. He seems to believe I am every person he has had an edit war against. He is always using personal attacks, calling me troll without reason. I uploaded them again and he voted them for deleted, but to his surprise the person who runs the images, thank you Nv8200p, found they were acceptable once I tagged them properly. Just recently he removed both the images without himself discussing it in the talk page (unless he was the same person who discussed only one) with the edit here [1] Then ContiE assumed bad faith, added his constant insult of troll in the talk page. It appears on a completed different wiki, a comedy one in all things, somebody else stole my username and I believe this was Conti himself and uploaded them. ContiE showed it as his reason. While vandalism like his, I would revert and mention it, he would ban me permanently if I undid his edit. That is why I am asking admins for help. He holds a couple of accounts on wikipedia and I think they are administrators so I have to be careful who I tell about this. Arights 06:35, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

BeNeLux template edit

Dear Pir, since you are living in Luxembourg I thougt I might contact you with this request: A couple of editors are currently working on a new version of the "History of the Low Countries" template. You can see the new template at Template:History of the Low Countries.

There is still a bit of uncertainty about the importance of certain 19th century events, most notably the end of Luxembourg's membership in the German Confederation in 1867/67, and the end of the personal union with the Netherlands in 1890. The issue is, which of these events should be included in the template: both, the one, the other, or none at all.

I'd appreciate your comments at Template talk:History of the Low Countries.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
