Me again

Is it ok to tag such pages [1], that occur very often as a test page, with G2, instead of A7, when it is clearly/blatantly obvious the person is well just your everyday joe, and not notable? Phgao 11:42, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok got it. On another note, I've found G2's get deleted much more quickly than A7's. Phgao 11:56, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes indeed, with regards to people, the article's writer could get angry if their article is deleted and they think it is notable, whereas tests/attacks are obvious, and I have found attacks go very very quick, and that cat is usually empty. But it seems whenever I look at that page, there always is a backlog... Ok I'm off for tonight, but before I go, here's two clear cut cases. [2] [3] [4] [5] Ok make that 4. [6] 5. Ok i'll stop. :) Phgao 12:13, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Greenhill

Why did you delete the article about Greenhill (investment bank)? It's a $1.85bn listed company!!! Are you crazy? Agronimator 07:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please AGF and remain civil and do not lambast the editor, also this comment "(re-submitting the article... some idiot seems to have deleted it... he/she must be retarded, because this is a $1.85bn company!!!)" does not help. Pedro may have deleted when it was first created because it failed one of the requirements for notability or did not state its notability or was a very short article. Next time, please do not resort to personal attacks. Phgao 10:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
If Pedro is indeed crazy, then it's really not an attack. the_undertow talk 18:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good point. But I'm not crazy. And neither am I. Ohhhhhhh....!Pedro :  Chat  07:10, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi

Please restore the page you deleted on 28 september. This person is quite notable , she is the English editor of Iran Press News and one of the most vocal Iranian activists so I do not know why you deleted it . This is an important person , her is a quick video on her .[[7]] --CltFn 11:36, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just came here to leave a note about this article being recreated and saw the above message. You A7'd it after it was tagged as a vanity article by an IP that appears to have POV issues. It does not look to me like a vanity article, especially since the author appears to be male and the subject is female. If the factual assertions in the article are accurate, she looks notable enough to survive A7. IMHO. -- But|seriously|folks  06:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see it's fixed. Apologies if I was hasty. Pedro :  Chat  07:19, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help!

In one of the recent RfA's [8], where I sortof went against the flow by giving a neutral (hopefully everyone sees it in good faith), the user said they would browse [9], now seeing as I'm a curious person I tried to access the page, but alas it is limited to admins, can you tell me what that page is for? Phgao 08:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yay! Thanks for the quick response :) Hope RL isn't getting too hectic! Phgao 08:23, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I sense a block coming ^.^ *ducks* Phgao 08:47, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Here we go

That guy you recently blocked, he was able to edit his talk page to attempt to be unblocked; so does that mean blocked users can still edit any talk pages and does that apply to ips as well? Phgao 08:58, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE:Your RFA was not successful

Hello! First of all, I would like to thank you for your very kind words of encouraging. I admit that it is quite a bit frustrating to have a total of five failed RFA nominations. Any other user would have quit from this project long ago, but not me. The reason is because I can still contribute a great deal to this project as a normal user. Anyway, I will take your advise seriously and try to take note of the comments made by other users in my last RFA. Lastly, I wish to thank you for having faith in me and supporting my last RFA. I hope to earn the community's trust in the future as well. Thanks! --Siva1979Talk to me 14:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I have already started doing some new page patrol and have tagged a couple of articles for speedy deletion. I will take your advise on helping out on WP:HELPDESK soon as well. I will also try to slow down on my edits, especially commenting on Afd pages and RFA pages. Thanks for your kind words of advise and I hope that my next RFA would not be a failure again. (anyway, which editor likes to see his RFA nomination fail consistently??) It can be a very depressing experience and it takes a very strong hearted editor to continue making contributions to this project after a couple of failed RFAs. I do not wish for any editor to experience this kind of failure like what I have gone through! --Siva1979Talk to me 15:14, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flowtracer

Hi Pedro. Yes, I could have deleted it myself, but as I am not completely familiar with the subject, I thought I would let someone else make the decision. For me the article didn't assert notability - just stating that it was a programme, but it had a couple of seemingly unrelated external links so I thought it was borderline. пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've declined this speedy deletion. Believe it or not it's a real place! I've changed the page into a redirect. Thanks for your hard work tagging speedies! Pedro :  Chat  13:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well that'll teach me to go tagging articles when I'm falling asleep! I guess I should have Googled it first, and now I'll have to; I'm intrigued. What a name! And thank you for the update. :) --HamatoKameko 19:48, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the support.

Hi Pedro,

Thank you very much for your participation by supporting my RfA. As you may very well be aware of, it closed successfully a few hours ago. I just wanted to extend my appreciation for the comprehensive and objective analysis you provided there. The UAA bit was indeed unfortunate, but it appears that taking the high road on the matter served me well. Going forward, I hope that I will show by my actions that I will be constructive element in service to the community.

Seeing that I am loathe to spam or "Template the Regulars", I will keep this short. Thanks again, --Aarktica 00:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question regarding deletion of new article - and it was my first one ... :o(

Hi,

I started an article on the European project NETC@RDS and was quite surprised to notice that it's been deleted. As I am new to wikipedia, I'm not quite sure what to make of this.

Could you maybe give me some explanations on why this article was deleted and what I can do to prevent another deletion when I'll try to re-submit information on the project?

BTW, it's a non-for-profit project funded by the European Commission and several national health authorities to foster the free movement and access to health care all over Europe. So I can't quite follow your view of this being some sort of advertising.

But we learn as we live and I'd be quite happy if you could shine some light on that issue (and maybe undelete the article).

All the best from sunny Vienna, WKreutzer 08:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Os patos

Have a look here [11]. It goes on "The divine beings are made of EVA since it is the best material that exists in the universe...".Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English is always a good place to look if a foreign-language page has been put up for speedy deletion, since you get editors who know the languages assessing the value of these pages. Cheers. --Folantin 10:14, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Requests for adminship

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and offer your support for my self nomination - Yes, some of my phrasing might be a bit odd - hehe, but I wonder, is it encouraged to continue to flesh out my comments or comment underneath the support/neutral/oppose section?Wisdom89 14:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes, it is fine to add your opinions and explain further in response to oppose/neutral comments. Phgao 14:17, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image deletion request

Hi. This message has been addressed to you because you happened to be around at the time. Would you mind whacking Image:Orion 005.png , which I made and posted? It was determined to not be much good at all in the sole article it's relevant to, and will be replaced by a couple of better ones. --Kizor 13:23, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! --Kizor 13:30, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

RFA Thanks

My recent RfA

Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace, so that is what I will do. I will go for another RfA in two month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been two months. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! -- Cobi(t|c|b|cn) 00:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
