Query edit

Hello, Zafir94,

Just wondering if there is a reason why you are tagging articles you created for deletion. Are you leaving Wikipedia forever? Or just change your mind about the articles? Liz Read! Talk! 03:41, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Liz, other editors expressed issues with some of those articles (notability, primary sources, etc) in the past. A cleanup was required. Zafir94 (talk) 04:33, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cassiopeia,
Brian Ortega is currently (as of writing) ranked No. 3 in the UFC featherweight rankings

[2]https://www.ufc.com/athlete/brian-ortega
Plus, White announced him as No. 3.

The edit on the page was made from No. 4 to No. 3 to reflect the current state. Zafir94 (talk) 22:58, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi Zafir94, My apologies and thank you for letting me know my mistake. I have reverted the ranking to #3. Once again - my bad. Safe safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 04:40, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for February 9 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Keyshawn Davis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jose Pedraza. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Future tense edit

Just going through your edits, I noticed you have been labeling "was scheduled to fight..." (which is past tense), instead of "is scheduled to fight". Just to let you know. Nswix (talk) 16:46, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nswix,
Thank you for your comment.
"is scheduled to fight" is not a "future tense". It is "present" tense (pretty sure it is [passive voice in present tense).
Future tense: "will fight..."
- When the fight happens (or doesn't happen) the "is" obviously needs to be changed to "was".
Example: The fighter "was scheduled" to fight. The fighter won.
Or: The fighter "was scheduled to fight", but the fight was canceled.
- To my understanding, until the fight happened (or didn't), the grammatically correct way is: "has been scheduled to fight". Once it did happen (or didn't), the editor needs to edit the article and change it to was.
Similar to holding the titles: "The fighter has held the belt since 2024", which is "present perfect" tense. You don't write "holds", which is present tense, or "is holding", which is "present continues" tense.
Unless I am wrong, and you can show me the actual Wikipedia guidelines regarding this, would be appreciated. Zafir94 (talk) 20:05, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
