Hi there - it would be better to discuss the lead image on the talk page to seek agreement to move it, rather than constantly changing it. Try: Talk:Minangkabau people. regards --Merbabu (talk) 09:02, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi Omar. I'm a Malaysian user with some actual Minangkabau lineage myself... I understand the overwhelming majority of the Minangkabau do live in Indonesia, but the page regarding the people has to reflect the experiences of all the other communities that live outside the country, like in Singapore or Malaysia - thus we have to keep it politically neutral from linguistic and anthropological standpoints.
The fact that you edited the phrase "Indonesian and Malay [languages]" itself is politically charged..."Indonesian" is Malay, specifically a politically correct name of the variant spoken in now Indonesia. "Bahasa Indonesia" is on the same status as "Bahasa Malaysia" being both variants of the same "Bahasa Melayu" according to the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, the Malay language regulatory board for Malaysia; thus, the labels of "Indonesian and Malay [languages]" are incorrect - which I believe exhibit a more nation-centric bias. The concept of an "Indonesian language" only existed after the Sumpah Pemuda of the 1920s, many centuries after the migration of Minangkabau to the Malay Peninsula, like my ancestors did. I hope you can understand this situation...we don't want this topic shared by both countries get targetted into a political bickering. It has never been this way in the Malaysian Minangkabau community. - Anumengelamun (talk) 05:29, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
