Speedy deletion nomination of İçel sanat kulübü

Proposed deletion of Power ratio vs decibel

The article Power ratio vs decibel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article seems superfluous as it consists of a definition from the main article Decibel, some basic calculus and a table of logarithms, which is unnecessary in the age of calculators.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi. I've noticed your recent edits which are mostly irrelevant and not an improvement. The Turkish language is only associated with modern Turkey. Adding it to the articles of ancient empires or peoples who were neither associated with modern Turkey, modern Turkish, or at least the Oghuz branch of the Turkic languages is POV and irrelevant. It will get removed. It's like adding the Indian names of certain American, English, German or French empires/peoples in the respective articles, because all of these languages are related. Regards. Reference about adding references to sources

If you find a book, magazine, newspaper article, etc that you want to use as a reference, just type one of the following after the information in the article which the reference is about:

List of mayors of Mersin

Hey there. I've had a look at List of mayors of Mersin, and I agree with you and therefore have removed those tags. Incidently, if tags like those appear on an article you're working on in the future, please don't read them as criticism. They're simply to alert other Wikipedia users what type of work is needed on it.

I made a couple of minor changes to the article, including removing one of the references - generally you don't use other wikipedia articles as references, and also I added a specific references heading. I also tagged it on the Turkish wikiproject so that other editors can contribute - I wouldn't normally have graded another wikiproject's article but as it's a list, generally it'll be in the list class.

Thank you for the tentative offer. It's often hard to derive encyclopedic information from an interview, but if you do notice anything in the interview that seems usable, then your addition of this information to the article would be very welcome. As it is, almost all I can find about Economopoulos are very minor variations on the same potted biography. (I imagine that there's more in the big bilingual collection of his work published by the Benaki Museum in 2002, but I know of no library that has a copy.) Also, if you happen to be near a library with a good collection of books in Turkish and to be interested, then I wonder if Türkiye magnum (Istanbul: İstanbul Modern, 2007; ISBN 9756167181) has photos by him or information about him.

Have you heard of the (Greek) "Ipektsi Award for peace and friendship between Greek and Turkish people"? (Google shows me nothing in English.) To me it sounds the kind of thing that would be worthwhile in en:Wikipedia. Youredits to year articles

Hi Nedim,

I've reverted your additions of Turkish elections to year articles such as 1946 and 1950. The edits create a slippery slope; if we add elections for one country to a year article, we must had elections for all countries, and that would make the articles unmanageably large. My moves

Nedim, I'd be happy to explain them.

1. The general practice on Wikipedia is to refer to an entity by only one name, and to refer to it in sub-articles by that one name also. Thus, while the empire in question was also known as Turkey or the Turkish Empire, our article for it is at Ottoman Empire, and all articles involving the topic should only use the term Ottoman or Ottoman Empire, for consistency and simplicity. (To give another example: there was a long debate about renaming our article on the Swiss capital Berne to Bern. When that finally happened, a lot (though for some reason not all) of our articles on the subject were moved from using Berne to Bern.)

2. I moved the article on the treaty because we have Treaty of Constantinople (1479), Treaty of Constantinople (1700) and Treaty of Constantinople (1832). It would be odd to have just one at Treaty of Istanbul (and by the way, our article on Istanbul uses I and not İ). If you'd like to discuss moving all four articles to Treaty of Istanbul, I suggest using WP:RM, but until then, I think it's preferable to be consistent in our naming conventions. - Biruitorul ^Talk 16:37, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
