Miss Chinese International 2012

I highly doubt that you are an "expert" in the Miss Chinese International Pageant. The trivia written by the unknown user is verifiable and correct. Sounds interesting to me, shameful of you to remove the trivia at your own desperate need for control over Wiki....

No, I never claimed to be an "expert" of Miss Chinese International Pageant, nor have I a "desperate need to control over Wiki" as you so claim. The reasons why I have been reverting the unsourced trivia section are very straightforward: 1) Trivia sections should be avoided and incorporated into the article itself. (See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trivia sections) The section has been tagged for almost a month now. Just because the trivia "sounds interesting" does not mean it is "encyclopedia material". 2) The trivia is not sourced. And before you argue that you can do so by looking on past results on their respective Wikipedia articles, they STILL NEED TO BE CITED by VERIFIABLE external sources. I do not disagree with the factual quality of the trivia, but without a sourced attached, I had to send it packing. If you noticed, there are trivia points that ARE sourced which are kept in the article. I am not deleting trivia for the sake of deleting. If you are interested in preserving the points in the article, why not contribute positively by helping to find the sources for them before reverting them back into the article rather than coming onto my talkpage and attacking me personally. Chinese Music History

Hi, I found via the participants list of WikiProject Chinese language entertainment. I myself have worked on the article for Chinese rock a few times in the past and am dedicated to present Chinese music online to those that don't speak Chinese, i.e. 5/6 of the world.

As you can see from my user page, I am also one of the founding members of Rock in China (which currently expanded to Music-China.org). Our community is also a Mediawiki-based system solely focussed on Chinese music with one major difference: Whereas Wikipedia would like to be an encyclopedia with the aim to capture humankind's knowledge in brief, short and destinctive articles, it is our aim to present Chinese music in all its details and as much information as possible. As we like to say, we are preparing the reference page that Wikipedia is linking to. You can see the page for Cui Jian as example where this is implemented.

The main reason I am writing to you is that we have started a new project at Music-China.org called 'Chinese Music History' during which we want to document the complete history of Chinese music in all its details and cross-reference it to Wikipedia, i.e. work on both platforms according to each platforms' aims.

I would like to invite you, as member of the WikiProject Chinese language entertainment to help us build up both wikis, Wikipedia and Music-China.org. Please feel free to read more about us and the the project.

New 10,000 Challenge for Canada

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center The 1000 Women in Religion Project is working to improve the coverage of women’s contributions to religious, spiritual and wisdom traditions worldwide. In support of this goal, the edit-a-thon at Atla's (formerly the American Theological Library Association) annual meeting will focus on improving articles about women in religion. We would love to have a few Vancouver area Wikipedians to help us get new editors oriented and editing!! Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
