James Bond edit

The motto is 'personal' and thus is at James Bond (character) (specifically "Family and early years") so the information is there and in greater detail. In the next week or so it'll hopefully be more obvious to a regular reader where that information can be found. We're kind of going through a transition phase and I haven't had the time to really cleanup the article (see Talk:James Bond for the latest). Sorry if I wasn't clear in the edit summary. Bagets (TV series) edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Bagets (TV series), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Citation help edit

Hello Dennis, I took the liberty of creating your personal sandbox for you. I had edited the article you created on the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, but since it's under construction, we had an edit conflict. To prevent that, I copied my edited version to your personal Sandbox. I think it will help you deal with common citations and references. Buzz me if you need help. Your personal sandbox is here: User:Monzonda/Sandbox. — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 03:04, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: your emailed question edit

Hello, regarding your emailed question:

Hi! I'm done writing about Iwahig for now. Until I can get more
research material. I'll be using the sandbox for clean up another article
regarding the Bureau of Corrections. Question: If I write the article on
the Sandbox. then no one will know that an article about the topic is
being created. What will happen to the article then?
Thanks and I'm very sorry to bother you.

I'm glad you're using your sandbox for now. That's primarily its purpose; so that an editor may have a place to develop articles in. You'll have no fear of saving an improperly formatted article in there 'cause its your own personal space.

What you do is simply develop the article in your sandbox. When you are sufficiently satisfied with your effort, you can post it in the main namespace. Other editors will then be able to add to the article. Basically, while you are developing the article, you're by yourself. Which is good; no edit conflicts. Once, you post it in the main namespace, everyone else contributes. I hope this clarifies things. =)

No bother at all. Just buzz me in my talk page should you have other questions. Happy editing! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 08:48, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with File:BUCRSeal.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:BUCRSeal.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 17:59, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Newbilibid.JPG edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Newbilibid.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 12:51, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:BUCRSeal.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175 edit

Dear Monzonda,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Rico Robles.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Rico Robles.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 2019 US Banknote Contest edit

  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
