It was Makasiar, who vacated his seat as Associate Justice in July 85 to become CJ. Marcos was incredibly tardy in filling up the vacancies to the Supreme Court, and in fact left seats vacant for as long as 3 to 5 years. By the time of the EDSA revolution in February '86, there still were vacancies which remained unfilled, including Makasiar's old seat, and it was Cory Aquino who would fill in those seats.

I'm actually trying to prepare a list similar to this one, which should clarify who succeeded whom, but this may take quite a while. --Anyo Niminus (talk) 22:35, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion

I have declined your speedy deletion request on Heherson Alvarez. While you were completely correct that it was a copyright violation, in general, if the subject is certainly notable (and all members of national governing bodies are always notable), I think it's better just to stub the article down to a bare minimum. That way there's still something there for people to add to in the future; also, I think it actually makes more copyvios a little less likely, because if there's nothing, someone may well come along and just copy and paste the page again so that there's something there.
