Teahouse Answers edit

Here is a list of your subpages. Special:PrefixIndex/User:Kekki1978. You can add this link to your userpage for easy access if you wish. your sandbox is fixed and can now be used. However another idea is to simply use the Draft: namespace. An example article is Draft:B2B2C (company). This is useful because then other editors can find and collaborate if they wish. I will suggest keeping articles you create on your watchlist, just so you can keep them clear of vandalism and not let them get deleted, but a list of articles YOU have created is available right here. Any article you create will show up here even if it has been moved or renamed. is you have any questions feel free to ask me. Thanks! EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 18:51, 16 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kekki1978, I'm following up on your posting at COIN a while back. You disclosed there that User:Kekki1978/Draft3:Rick Shutter is an article you expect to be paid for. It is pretty unusual for people who edit for pay to do that for only one article. You have not disclosed any other paid editing. Are you writing, or are have you written, other articles for pay? If so, would you please disclose them on your user page? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 13:29, 13 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @Jytdog: Thank you for your questions and your request. Apparently, I am a pretty unusual case. I have not yet written any articles for pay. At the current time, I anticipate receiving compensation contingent on successful publication for an article for which I am writing a draft. I have properly disclosed this activity in accordance with Wikipedia policy and I have requested feedback to ensure compliance with Wikipedia editorial guidelines. Excluding this isolated work, I do not anticipate receiving compensation for any other work related to Wikipedia, (and in the case of anticipating compensation for an article based on this draft, my situation may be changing.) I follow Wikipedia policy and I have and will disclose paid editing per policy; I have already disclosed what I should have and have nothing else to disclose. Thank you for bringing your concern to my attention. Kekki1978 (talk) 22:23, 13 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

A coincidence edit

I'd just started work on this, and by googling a little discovered you'd just started work on this. Quite a coincidence! I'm happy to hand it all over to you, but if you want any help (or want to pinch any of the material that I've started putting together), just let me know. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:24, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @Ghmyrtle:. Great minds think alike! (Frankly, I'm shocked that no article has been written about Ripp yet. As you know, he's quite an interesting guy.) What you've done so far is terrific! If you don't mind, I'd like to continue writing it. I'd love to pinch what you've done so far (and I thank you for the offer). When I'm closer to being finished, I'd appreciate having your experienced editor's eye look it over--I welcome any and all suggestions. When the article is ready, you can feel free to upload it if you'd like and take co-creation credit if you wish. Thank you very much for getting in touch with me. Kekki1978 (talk) 16:21, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I looked at your sources, and it seems you've found more than me. I found his birth name and date of birth from public records. Anyway, let me know when you'd like me to take a look - I'm happy to let you get on with it. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:26, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
To free up your /alfred subpage for other uses, I copied your draft to this location, giving attribution in a comment at the beginning of the draft. Thanks for your offer to take a look at a more complete version. Kekki1978 (talk) 16:41, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @Ghmyrtle:, I just wanted to let you know that I moved the draft of Artie Ripp from Userspace to Draftspace. I'm continuing to work on it there. It's not article-ready yet, still having some considerable areas of weakness, but please feel welcomed to edit if you wish. Thanks again for checking in when you discovered both of us were working on the same topic and for being OK with my continuing with the writing. Kekki1978 (talk) 20:04, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Ghmyrtle: would you mind taking a look at the draft I wrote on Artie Ripp? Some areas could still be expanded, but I'm considering moving it from draftspace into articlespace and continuing to work on it there. I mention some controversies associated with Ripp, and I could use a second set of eyes to consider whether the article is vulnerable to accusations of libel. Thank you. Joel Fagliano edit

Hi Kekki1978! Thanks for creating Joel Fagliano; as you saw I just finished it and launched it. I'm submitting it to DYK with the factoid about him publishing four crosswords in the NYT before he finished high school; is it okay if I list you as co-nominator? {{u|Sdkb}}talk 02:00, 27 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Sdkb: Submitting it as a DYK and listing me as co-nominator would be great! Thank you so much for the work and the courtesy! – Kekki1978 talk 02:46, 27 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Sdkb: I saw that you're on the hook for doing a QPQ review for another DYK. I'm relatively inexperienced on WP and new to DYK, but I'm happy to try to help. Does a QPQ review state how well a proposed DYK follows the guidelines? If you can tell me where to find nominated DYKs and where to write the review, I can try to write something up. If you don't have time to provide the guidance, no worries. Thanks again for crafting and creating the article and for nominating it for the DYK. – Kekki1978 talk 15:18, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Kekki1978, the QPQ requirement is basically just that, for nominators with more than five previous DYK credits (which includes me), we're expected to do a review for every nom we make. I thought having you along would mean we'd be exempt, but it seems that didn't fly haha, so I completed one (they're quick so it was no trouble). I'm not sure if they'd have been able to accept it for the QPQ if you'd done it, but I appreciate the offer! It should be good to go now, and will appear on the main page sometime in the next few weeks (you'll get a bot talk page message as soon as it does). {{u|Sdkb}}talk 00:56, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sdkb Thanks again for pulling up the slack and bringing the article and the DYK to life, and thanks for letting me know how DYK works. I'm glad to know that more people will be learning about Fagliano and his work. Thanks again. – Kekki1978 talk 08:51, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Joel Fagliano edit

On 12 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Joel Fagliano, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that The New York Times puzzle editor Joel Fagliano published four crosswords in the paper before he finished high school? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Joel Fagliano. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Joel Fagliano), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thank you for your feedback. I am intentionally responding here instead of your talk page so that readers here can see my response. So, no, I was testing a change to prepare for an edit on another talk page, and what I was testing required all the parts of an article's talk page to already exist. If you look at my edit history, you can see the subsequent edit I made to another talk page. I was respectful of Wikipedia. I intentionally chose the talk page of an article a page that did not have as much traffic as others. I left the edit up for fewer than 60 seconds. Next time, I will leave a clearer edit summary. Thank you for your service. If you would like a list of true work that has to be done on Wikipedia that would be more worthy of your time and talents, there are plenty of places to get that information. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. – Kekki1978 talk 23:58, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Regardless, please do not make test edits in article-space, that's what your sandbox is for. - FlightTime (open channel) 00:16, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, sir. However, I was not "practicing editing," as you put it. That is what your original complaint was, and that is different than what I did. I was determining how a talk page with categories would be affected by an edit that needed to be done. That cannot be done in a sandbox unless the entire page is copied there, and userspace is not to be used as storage space nor are categories allowed in userspace; if I had done what you require, I would have broken rules. That cannot be your intent.
The edit I made was here. Someone incorrectly added a suggestion to the talk page. I could have "been bold," as they say, and done the fix incorrectly there, and then corrected it. The outcome would have been exactly the same. What you are teaching is for people not to make the effort to fix things and make things better. The good thing you are teaching is for people to be clear and careful with their edit summaries. Best wishes. – Kekki1978 talk 05:53, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
