Normalize the title of this article. edit

The title of this article is in italic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeromi Mikhael (talkcontribs) 08:18, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Now   Fixed, thank you for bringing this to attention. Sam Sailor 10:28, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I mean the page name.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 14:31, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
The article's displayed title is italicized automatically by {{Infobox newspaper}}. The template's page provides instructions on how to prevent that from happening but I believe doing so would be inappropriate in this case as per MOS:TITLE. Iaritmioawp (talk) 15:07, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Coat of arms of Riga edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Coat of arms of Riga requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pasvaldiba.riga.lv/EN/Channels/About_Riga/Symbols_of_Riga/default.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:21, 27 June 2018 (UTC) @Diannaa:You may be want to specify in what section on the article is a direct copyright, so that I can quickly change it from different sources. Please don't tag it as speedy deletion.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 13:24, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

This information is available via the Copyvios report links on the speedy deletion template. Specifically, you can view the overlap here and here. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:58, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa:Permission to revert the changes and change the article so that it won't be tagged as copyvio.Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 14:05, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

You don't need permission to clean it up. Please go ahead — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:11, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Diannaa: I have cleaned the page. The blazon of the 1925 coat of arms I have kept the same because of the PD.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 15:18, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
The page is now safe from copyvio. The version shown is the version without the blazon.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 15:46, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have done a little more clean-up and the article is now okay from a copyright point of view. It's okay to leave in the blazon, properly formatted as a block quote the way you did. Please note that the page creator should never remove a speedy deletion tag; this needs to be done by someone else, typically the reviewing administrator. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:40, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
