Proposed edit to EMD 645

Hello intelati, I hope this finds you well. In one of your comments to my talk page, you demanded that I share with you any proposed edits I might consider making before I make them. In keeping with your requirement as to avoid the terrible fate of a block at your hand, I hereby propose the following addition to EMD 645:

In many ways the 645 prime mover was very similar to the 567, with the exception that in order to achieve more power, it offered the additional benefit of greater displacement - 645 cubic inches (hence its name) as opposed to 567. The engine had the same deck and stroke height as its predecessor; however, the bore was widened from 8 1/2 inches to 9 1/16 inches and its speed was increased from 800-900 to 900-950 rpm. EMD ensured that the new power plant included redundancy wherever possible, allowing parts to be swapped among various models. This carried over into late era 567 designs, which could accept many 645 parts giving railroads the ability to further extend the service lives of EMD's original prime mover. Ultimately, this was another strategy that allowed Electro-Motive to continue to dominate the market.

Please let me know your thoughts. Truly and eagerly, Blogcoal (talk) 03:42, 7 September 2018 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I sounded like I was demanding you to post on my talk page first, I didn't have that intention. I was intending to suggest to make some drafts on my page to learn the basic Wikipedia edits.
First, cut the fluff. Without reading the rest of the article, using a WP:NPV (Read these WP links, they dictate or give advice on rules in Wiki, and are some of the more interesting pages here) the last sentence needs to be cut.
Two, this section seems wordy. Try reversing the first sentence. Because of the larger displacement...
Three, WP:Citation needed. Cite, and then if in doubt, cit e some more. Really though, it's hard to over cite an article. (Just don't stack six citations on a particular point and you'll be fine)
Oh, and I'm no Wikipedia Watcher, Lol. I just like doing the little edits and I reach out a hand occasionally. User:intelati/talk 04:13, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
