AfC notification: Draft:Kirsten Neuschäfer has a new comment edit

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Kirsten Neuschäfer. Thanks! S0091 (talk) 14:30, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Kirsten Neuschafer's wiki profile should not be contingent up the result of GGR. She will complete the race in less than a week --very like as #1! Beyond that her awards for Tapio's rescue, her performance in the race so far, and her past adventures such as her biking across Africa should be ample sufficient to make up a noteworthy profile. iercan (talk) 09:54, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi iercan, her cycling does not make her notable (see WP:Notability (sports)#Cycling). Her notability hinges on her completing, if not winning GGR. I did not decline the draft as another reviewer may disagree so it is still pending. If she wins and it is still pending, you are welcome to leave a note a my talk page and I will accept it. Otherwise another reviewer will take a look. S0091 (talk) 14:42, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, @S0091. Kirsten Neuschafer is now officially "the first woman to win a round the world race by the three great capes, including solo and fully crewed races, non-stop or with stops, and the first South African sailor to win a round-the-world event!" as announced on GGR Facebook site. iercan (talk) 20:30, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Facebook is not a reliable source but I am sure there are or will be other publications forthcoming. When they become available please add them and expand the draft to include the information. S0091 (talk) 21:32, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I thought the sources in this draft were already pretty solid, but now that Neuschäfer has won the race, this certainly makes her notable enough as her victory has (deservedly) been all over the news today. I've added a couple of RS citations to the article talk page, if you can't immediately find anything better. Perhaps you would like to update the article content now, to reflect her victory? Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:15, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for accepting the draft @DoubleGrazing! I am incorporating her victory on the page now. All the best! iercan (talk) 10:21, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
