I'm sorry, I'm not following. What it is you need me to translate, and how/where would I do this? Also, my Italian is conversational, but hardly fluent. I'd love to help, but aside from an Arbitration matter I'm currently embroiled in, you could probably yield a translation of equal or superior quality with Google Translate. Feedback on XTools edit

Hello. I've been testing your version of X Tools. Here's some feedback, though only on the Top Edits tool: 1. For whatever reason, when checking a user on Top Edits (for example, Jimbo), when the articles show up, the article names (though not the hyperlinks) will appear without spaces (for example, JimmyWales rather than Jimmy Wales). Can this be fixed? The old XTools version (TParis' version the last time it worked properly) didn't have this issue.

2. When that is fixed, could the hyperlinks be changed so that underscores will show up rather than spaces? For example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page rather than en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main Page

Thanks. And here's a barnstar for you.

I love the look and feel of the tools, now. You've added a ton of features and I find the whole suite to be very useful and intuitive. I love the cross-tool-links which make it crazy easy to navigate to exactly the information I am looking for. The added speed of the tools is also no joke, they just pop up with hardly any loading. The stats that you've improved upon on the edit counter, to include admin states, are just incredible. Thank you for all of your hard work, you are definitely talented. v/r - TP 22:43, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hey! I really appreciate that! But to be honest, X!'s tools is a brand and it's LEGION, so I consider it an honour to contribute. Cheers. --Hedonil (talk) 00:48, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Don't be modest. xtools is only as good as it's maintainers, and you're awesome.—cyberpower ChatOnline 01:45, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

New search history tool edit

I have left a query for you about your new tool on the Village Pump Help desk today, under the above heading. It is excellent, by the way, very user-friendly. --P123ct1 (talk) 20:46, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thx for noticing. --Hedonil (talk) 17:06, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Xtools "Created pages" edit

Hi! I hope it is ok to left message here :) I have some "problems" with Pages created tool. I have created 5000+ articles @lv wiki, but the "more" link doesn't work (I get the same first 5000 articles after pressing it). --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 11:52, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wooo! 29,461 pages created! You are an animal ;) (While testing my machine nearly broke..)
https://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/pages/?user=Edgars2007&lang=lv&wiki=wikipedia&namespace=all&redirects=none&limit=100
I've modified the parameters, now it starts with 100 and decuples on every -more- call, or you can set the limit-paramter in the url by hand.
Keep creatin'. Cheers. --Hedonil (talk) 17:05, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
P.S: If you like the tools, consider translating it into your preferred language (Latvian language, I assume) https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:Translate?group=tsint-xtools&+filter=!translated&action=translate&setlang=lv&filter=!translated (or ask someone who can do this). Would be great.
Thanks! And it's always nice to hear such comments as "my machine nearly broke" in such situations :) I'll have a look at the translatewiki. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:45, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

New search history tool (2) edit

I have a few more suggestions and another query. Perhaps "Don't follow redirects" needs an explanatory note. This will baffle newbies, I think. (I still don't know what redirects are!) Also, what about a note that the page title is case sensitive, or is that obvious? If a phrase to be searched includes wikitext in the original, must the wikitext be omitted or included when typing in the phrase? (e.g. if phrase to be searched is "they said it was [[jihad]]".) How about placing a link to this gadget at the top of the "View history" page? That would be really helpful, especially as I imagine many will want to use this tool in conjunction with the "View history" pages. Just some suggestions to fine-tune what is already a brilliant tool! --P123ct1 (talk) 12:37, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Will do so. --Hedonil (talk) 16:20, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on XTool edit

I think this is your tool. If not, let me know. Feedback here on the Bugs To Do list. This is a fine tool, by the way. Superior to anything else at WP I've accessed before. Is there a way we can delete the flagged "bugs" items one by one, so they don't keep adding forever and forever? I've looked through this list on Davy Crockett, and nothing there is really an error in grammar. In fact, you'll notice that it even flagged a section header for lacking commas, which section headers don't generally have.— Maile (talk) 15:33, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Maile66, thanks for reporting! The grammar checks are performed with toollabs:languagetool maintained by Dnaber, the results are then implemented in XTools & XTools Gadget. This is a wonderful tool and I already talked to Dnabe to improve the feedback mechanism (post new rules, discuss 'em), ideally a wikipage. For now, just post your suggestions on his talk page or edit the rules with http://community.languagetool.org/ruleEditor2/ .
Cheers. --Hedonil (talk) 16:19, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. — Maile (talk) 16:48, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

XTools oddity this morning edit

Firefox 30.0. Below the usual page top line for the stats are line breaks with separate lines for (right-margin aligned) Results, Checkwiki, Wikidata, Language Tool and Dead links. Don't mind seeing the info, but it leaves a couple of inches of white space on the left-hand side of those items above the top of the article. — Maile (talk) 12:10, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I posted about this here too. --NeilN talk to me 13:08, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

XTools edit

Hi! What is about the files oploaded (not those on Commons) and pages moved? I have some that doesn't appear here.--Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 13:36, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I did some changes to overcome the current slowness (currently there's a major database upgrade in Labs) - and forgot to re-enable the upload resp. move actions. Sry for that. It's back now, but as said, very slow.
Tip. If it times out while loading, please wait ~ 3 minutes, then try again (atm best timing between local cache & db cache). Things are supposed to be back at full speed at the end of this week. Greets. --Hedonil (talk) 05:13, 31 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Actually, there was a tool for log actions on toolserver (I think you can somehow view the code there), maybe something could be imported @Xtools (I really don't remember what log actions exactly was there)? --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 09:05, 1 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
There is one thing more I hope that I am not bothering you too much. Here the user groups section is blank and here is not. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 09:10, 1 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oh well, thanks to hint at that again. SC is an "old" module, that still uses database table user_groups (which has a bug), while "modern" Edit Counter uses an API-call for this. Will be fixed. --Hedonil (talk) 19:27, 2 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

New search history tool (3) edit

I am having trouble with your new gadget. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and quite often it comes up with a message saying "Internal error", "The URI you have requested, /xtools/blame/?project=en.wikipedia.org&article=Islamic+State+of+Iraq+and+the+Levant&text=agreed+to+supply+Kurdish+forces, appears to be non-functional at this time." What is happening? Hope you can fix it soon, as it is such a good tool and I rely on it! --P123ct1 (talk) 16:04, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Caught in the act! ;) I was refactoring all modules to prepare the publishing of the new repository, as is right and propper for OpenSource software. In addition the database guys are still fixing some problems. Hopefully the dust will settle soon.. So, sorry for that. Cheers --Hedonil (talk) 02:20, 20 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the update! --P123ct1 (talk) 07:16, 20 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

XTools edit

I very much like your new version of the edit counter.

I have a small problem which perhaps is of little significance and may not be changeable. I assume it is rare but I know it has occurred to at least two other editors. This was revealed when they were candidates for administrator in the recent past. The additional information on my page shows that I have one block and a longest block of 31 hours. The block was actually a mistake and lasted only 1 minute while the administrator realized and corrected his/her error. In effect, I have had no blocks. I assume the administrator mistakenly blocked me instead of a vandal whose edut(s) I had recently reverted.

Anyone who clicks on the block log itself will see the immediate unblock. Nonetheless, I am chagrined to see this black mark on my record, which I intend to keep clean. (Anyone can make a bad, inadvertent mistake, but I have not done so in over four years of editing.) I immediately inquired about having the entire record cleared when the mistake occurred but that seems not to be possible or to have some unintended side effect. It seems better just to have the block log and the immediate unblock as a clear public record because of this.

I will appreciate your consideration as to whether there is some way to note that the only block shown on my edit count page was a mistake, which lasted only a minute. I suppose anyone who is interested might click on the log and see the mistake but anyone who just looks at the counter page, few as I would expect that to be, will see a record of a 31-hour block. I can understand if it is too difficult to account for this unusual and rare situation but I thought it would not hurt to ask whether some note or other reference could be made on the counter page itself as long as I have maintained and continue to maintain a clear record.

Thanks for all your great work with the project. Donner60 (talk) 07:47, 20 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Came to report the same thing. My mistaken block of 2 minutes is listed as 1 week. No issue with listing the block but can we get the duration right? --NeilN talk to me 22:14, 31 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Actually looking at this closer I see the tool is reporting correctly. My block was for 1 week before it got lifted. Not sure you can "fix" this. Maybe list unblocks too? --NeilN talk to me 22:18, 31 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Xtools not responsive edit

The link to Xtools seems to be broken, this week the page didn't load every time I tried to view my stats. Now it is saying 404. Is someone addressing this?Lightspeed2012 18:50, 22 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Hedonil, are you still working to maintain the Xtools, including the edit counter? The edit counter has been in and out of service for 4 to 5 weeks. TParis is apparently no longer actively involved with its maintenance, and Cyberpower678 has been barely active the last several months. Is there something you can do to get the edit counter working again? Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 17:05, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • im here for the same reason in fact the mediawiki gave me the following message below,,,,,,
I see.
You mean a page like this one: https://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/articleinfo/index.php?article=MediaWiki:Histlegend&lang=en&wiki=wikipedia
It currently shows this HTTP header:

The tool "articleinfo", which you are talking about is part of "xtools" as listed here. The maintainers are User:Hedonil, User:Cyberpower678 and User:Tparis.

  • If TParis, Cyberpower678 and Hedonil all no longer willing to maintain xtools, they should look for one or more people to take over whatever tasks are necessary to keep it up and running, instead of just dropping it and not looking back. We haven't even fully recovered from the shutdown of toolserver. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 03:10, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • These tools have been working erratically for nearly six months. Please hand over the task of maintaining these tools to a team who are willing to keep them running properly. The Wikiblame tool (not your responsibility) does not work properly, Reflinks has closed down, and now this. ~ P123ct1 (talk) 11:59, 6 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
