Meaning of advent edit

To create a page on the 'meaning of advent', first check and see if there is not a close match in an existing page. For example, could you add text to Advent. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 16:32, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

You may want to consult this page: Wikipedia:Your first article. Also, the 'Welcome' above has useful info. And ask questions on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anglicanism page. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 16:39, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Advent edit

Hi, I think that you'll have to wait a few days to edit the Advent article. The article is 'protected'. This means that people have been vandalizing (adding abusive content or simple nonsesne) to the page. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 19:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've found the answer. You'll have to wait four days.

'Signing' your comments edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Please be bold and contribute!. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 20:01, 10 December 2007 (UTC) Thanks!Reply

Reply Thanks Very Much!! How do You Know Father Tim Anyway??

I don't! I've must have worded a response to you oddly. Sorry. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 21:15, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

User boxes edit

In the jargon of Wikipedia, the little boxes people put on their user pages are called 'userboxes' or 'user boxes'" see Wikipedia:Userboxes. That article at the bottom has links to lots of them. To add them to your user page, you have to surround them with {{ and }}. For example, {{User:UBX/Happy}} is a happy face user box and {{User swimmer}} makes the swimmer user box. Most of the stuff I've learned through trial and error by looking at the code on other peoples user pages. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 21:14, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ondine edit

Important! - Round up what few ballet enthusiasts you know on Wikipedia and get them to vote on the proposed merging of the Ondine articles that would see the article about Frederick Ashton's production of the actual ballet, being merged into one about the music.

See here: - Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Classical_music#Straw_Poll

And please vote to oppose this change, as this music would not have been written had it not been for Ashton's ballet!!!

Thank You

Contests edit

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:23, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
