Georgia Regents Medical Center edit

Thanks for the note. I have changed Georgia Regents Medical Center in some of the Nav Boxes. Mr.Atoz (talk) 12:01, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Great! Thank you! I'm having our intern make a few edits right now (he's the unsourced IP address posting this morning) and am providing him with sources. Please feel free to alert me if anything seems awry and I can do some more research. Thanks again! GRUcrule (talk) 13:15, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request for help/review! edit

To whomever happens to be the one who see this, I'd like to ask for someone to take a look at the GHSU-ASU Consolidation section of the Georgia Regents University page and see if the section requires more expansion. As I've worked heavily on this article, I don't want to be the one to make the decision on removing the "requires expansion" tag (or not). Thanks! GRUcrule (talk) 20:08, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

It looks satisfactory to me. I'll take the tag off. Thanks for your contributions. MM (Report findings) (Past espionage) 20:15, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re:Looking for admin input edit

Hi there. You're right that the article isn't in great shape, but I don't think this warrants deletion; any company which can be bought for $3.9 billion is almost certainly notable! That gives it an initial claim of notability, and so this would not be eligible for speedy deletion, but you may still want to nominate the article at articles for deletion (if you don't want to go through the procedure, I'll do it on your behalf). I have, however, taken an axe to the article and removed some issues, as well as giving it a little polish elsewhere. Do you feel that there are any particularly problematic issues with the article, other than the lack of sources? J Milburn (talk) 17:18, 28 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

That looks MUCH better than it did, though I can't help but wonder if a bit of the information couldn't be moved to the Motorola page, expanding the one sentence on the acquisition of Symbol. If that was done, then the original page could be deleted...right? Again, just looking for your input. I can go either way on this, and it's not a world-is-ending scenario for me. Just trying to help improve the site. Thanks! GRUcrule (talk) 18:08, 28 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
If you think that this should be merged, you could add {{mergefrom}} and {{mergeto}} and start a discussion on the Motorola page? I think others would likely argue that the company had some significance independent of Motorola. J Milburn (talk) 17:25, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks - I figure starting the discussion is worthwhile, and whatever comes of it is for the best. I appreciate your advice! GRUcrule (talk) 14:08, 4 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

New section on the Anime and Manga RfC edit

Hello there. Since the Anime and Manga RfC seems to have developed a consensus for the "It depends on notability and uniqueness of each adaptation", I have started a thread to see if we can offer metrics or further guidance for such case by case... erm... cases. I have no idea if such a thing is even possible to draft up, but since having it might help, I figured I'd try. The thread is HERE, and as a previous participant in the RfC I wanted to let you know about it using this overly long, rambling message. Cheers, Sven Manguard Wha? 16:12, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Rushed third opinion edit

You might want allow both parties to actually say something before you make decisions. And I do not see how you found this source and statement to have a justification to add to a family tree: "Pauli Kaōleiokū was the son of Kānekapōlei and either Kamehameha I or Kalaniʻōpuʻu". That, in no way, makes a claim of a blood relationship. That requires further sourcing and is the point of why the family tree is not correct.--Mark Miller (talk) 20:45, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I'm sure there was a reason why you removed this request[1] from WP:Third opinion. Would you mind sharing it with me? Roccodrift (talk) 20:29, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Because I was responding to it! I should've posted the 30 template while I was typing it out - my apologies for the confusion. GRUcrule (talk) 20:33, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
That's great, thank you. See? I knew there was a good reason. Roccodrift (talk) 20:37, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that reason being I took too long to freaking format my response. Was trying to use bullet-point style and couldn't make it work using the 30 response template. Gah. Next time, I'll write "responding to" on the 30 edit page instead of "removing" - again, sorry about that. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance to the two of you in improving the Health Care for America NOW! page. GRUcrule (talk) 20:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for having a look. There is still a good deal of disagreement left unresolved. Miles and I had already worked through the sourcing issue with the "price of passage" statement, but what remains is the balance of what Miles reverted at the same time. I left a bulleted list towards the top of the Talk discussion, referring to the string of 10-11 changes I had made just prior to Miles' most recent revert. If you have a few minutes, it would be great if you could look those over for us. Roccodrift (talk) 20:47, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I thought my other comments addressed those edits, dang it....if you would, could you point out what I missed on the talk page? That'll let me answer in kind over there. GRUcrule (talk) 20:49, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, will do. I'll post some diffs in just a moment. Roccodrift (talk) 21:04, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re: Azziz page edit

Hiya - wanted to get back to you since you posted on my talk page. the Azziz article does look good & informative. I tweaked a few things and added wikilinks. Compliments aside, I would seriously advise you to step away from the Azziz article at this point. The article is fleshed out and looks good. You are a state employee. You can let the community can take care of it from here on out. Happy editing and have a happy new yr. Wgnome0613 (talk) 04:46, 27 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate the compliment Wgnome, and you taking the time to look over it! I'm certainly all that I can to distance myself from the page - I have no issues with it. He's the guy that ultimately signs my checks, so I'd rather avoid the page to ensure I'm WP:NPOV. I've looped in Jhortman to perhaps add a few things to the article that I don't feel comfortable doing, so maybe if I think something needs to be added I can bring it by your talk page instead of editing myself? Again, thanks for helping improve the page! GRUcrule (talk) 19:36, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request for assistance, March 12 edit

I'm looking to delete the separate history sections in the Georgia Regents University article, and have a link inserted to a new article called "History of Georgia Regents University" - the article is ready to go in my sandbox (located here), and this endeavor came about from discussion at the Talk:Georgia Regents University page. Since I operate from a WP:COI (as stated many times in places, including my user page), I'd rather have somebody else do this to prevent an appearance of a violation of WP:NPOV even though I've been told it'd be fine for me to do so on the GRU talk page because I do my best to adhere to Wikipedia's policies (and often edit other articles, not just GRU-related ones). Thanks for assisting! GRUcrule (talk) 16:16, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

There's no difference between someone moving User:GRUcrule/sandbox to History of Georgia Regents University and you doing it yourself. Having someone else do it (a technicality) does not make a difference when it comes to WP:COI. If someone had concerns, the fact that someone else did it would not unburden you from the policy by adding a buffer. If you want someone to review it and approve your contributions before you move it that is a different matter. Personally, I think you should just move it yourself and discuss with other editors as time goes on if they have more COI concerns about the actual content and wording. Mkdwtalk 17:57, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's fair. I'll go ahead, then - I don't anticipate there being WP:COI issues as I do a good job following Wikipedia policies and writing in a neutral tone (as evidenced by my previous contributions), and I constantly loop in other editors to check on my efforts. Just wanted to try and be better safe than sorry. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my request. GRUcrule (talk) 18:16, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Christenberry Fieldhouse.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Christenberry Fieldhouse.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 20:39, 14 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Note to self: Image was replaced with a photo I took myself [2]. GRUcrule (talk) 17:36, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I am soliciting comments for an RfC that is currently open on the "Glengarry Glen Ross (film)" page. There is disagreement about where the film was set (New York vs. Chicago).

One of the issues is whether it is original research to cite to elements in the film itself (including props, dialogue, and a statement in the end credits that it was "filmed on location in New York City") to establish setting.

Response so far in the RfC has been mixed. Comments welcome! Xanthis (talk) 14:06, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service edit

Hi GRUcrule! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over three years.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in three years or more.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|{{subst:currentuser}}|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name on the FRS page, you may be receiving this message. If so, make sure your new account name is on the FRS list instead.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:26, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
