Dutch (ethnic group) edit

There are serious problems with the accuracy and neutrality of this article. It should not be considered as a candidate for Good Article in its present state. It has been used in the past to promote Greater Netherlands irredentism, and contained much pseudo-historical material. After deletions in December, this problem has resurfaced. Articles related to Dutch and Flemish identity and history attract posting by Dutch and Flemish nationalists, and stability should not be taken as an indication of accuracy.Paul111 13:13, 11 January 2007 (UTC) Although the article was failed, the political uses were not the reason. Articles related to nationalism and ethnicity at Wikipedia attract propagandistic content, and since there is no guarantee that they can be kept free of this, in principle I don't think any of them qualify for any commendation.Paul111 11:24, 12 January 2007 (UTC) Reply

WP:ADOPT edit

Hi there,

As a user looking to Adopt with the Adopt-a-User program, there has been some ongoing developments that we would like to bring to your attention, as well as request help with the backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.

You should know that the way the adoption process works has changed slightly. To decrease workload at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user on offering adoption please change the {{Adoptme}} template to {{Adoptoffer}} on the user's user page, and this will add the user to Category:Wikipedians having been offered adoption. Users that have already been offered adoption can always have a second or third offer, but by separating out those users that have not had an adoption offer yet, it is hoped that no one will go lacking. Once adoption is complete please use the templates found here on the Adoptee's and your user page.

Also numerous Adopters have been adding their details to a list of users available for adopting, to offer a more personalised service and allow new users to browse through and pick their own Adopter. The quickest way to adopt though, is still to contact users at the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.

Furthermore a new Adopter's Area has been created where you can find useful resources and other Adopter's experiences. Please feel free to add any resources you have and if you know of any useful resources for new users / Adoptees then you can add them here.

So I hope you get adopting soon - and if you have any general questions or suggestions about the further development of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User please bring them to our talk page. Cheers Lethaniol 15:17, 13 January 2007 (UTC) Reply

Adopt me edit

Hi, I just got your offer. I'd love to have you as an adopter.

I don't expect to be a frequent editor and writer, but I occasionally need help with the more advanced stuff. I'll probably be pretty low-maintenance.

So you know, my real expertise lies in math, though I tend to use Wikipedia for other subjects.

Thanks!! Dominicanpapi82 01:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC) Reply

Iran ratings edit

You need not use loaded terms to describe why you rate articles as you do-the terms you use run the risk of offending. I hope you take this in the spirit it is meant. Chris 04:00, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, no, that was the only one, and I appreciate your thoughtfulness in getting back to me. Happy Wikiing! Chris 01:43, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fact tags edit

Could you try to motivate why you inserted fact tags in the history of Poland (1945-1989)? Right now it just looks like you piked a few random facts to tag. You should specify why you want something cited on talk pages before adding tags.

Arabic script edit

Hi there. Noticed you were assessing articles recently, and tagging some for Arabic. Here's a good tip: in some articles you can copy the text from the Arabic Wikipedia interwiki link and use it for the Arabic script in the lead (using {{lang-ar|'''AR'''}}). It is almost always correct. Cheers! - Anas talk? 22:47, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

peer eview for ethnic groups edit

Hi Fsotrain09! :-)

I believe the work with the template for "peer review" and "old-peer-review" is done. There are still some places where elbow grease needs to be applied:

  • Let me know (via email preferably; I keep swearing I won't log onto Wiki 'cause I need to study ) if you have q's. Later! --Ling.Nut 23:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

SPATRA Civil Code of Argentina finished. edit

Hi. I havent worked in many SPATRA colaborations, so i dont know the exact procedure. I think the Civil Code article is now translated so maybe it's time to select the next one. I've seen that you were the one who changed to previous one, and i dont know who is supposed to do it, so... just telling you, I think the article is ready to go to the main page, but it still has some copy-edit work to do, so maybe we should post it in the "Translated articled which need revision" in the wikipedia:translation into english page, or whatever is usually done in these cases. --Wafry 14:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC) Reply

Taiwanese aborigines edit

Wikiproject ratings are independent of WP:GA. The previous GA fails were... other than the issue of mixed reference styles -- extremely questionable. In my opinion, this article is not only GA, it is in fact way past GA. :-)

But whatever.

Turney article edit

I've altered the Turney article again, what you had done would have been correct if one served on ships, but actually one serves in, so the basis was already wrong. Sorted now though. :) ALR 17:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC) Reply

re:translation edit

hi Fsotrain. i'm not a fluent speaker of Arabic, i'm still actually learning the language -- so i probably wouldn't be the best person to consult. you might want to ask User:FayssalF. he seems to be saying something about calendar usage, with reference to the chinese calendar.. but i don't know much more than that. talk page comments should really be in English anyway i guess. thanks ITAQALLAH 12:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC) Reply

June 25 news item edit

Hi there. I appreciate your concern for making sure the SCOTUS news headline kept to an NPOV, but I think you went overboard since the description of the news items were basically taken from the headlines to which they were linked. If you still have specific concerns, please post them to my talk page. Groupthink 20:51, 25 June 2007 (UTC) Reply

Wikiproject:Terrorism edit

Greetings,

I was hoping I could get some input from you, about the proposed mergerof WikiProject:Terrorism and counter-terrorism with Wikiproject:Terrorism. It seems there's a lot of overlap between the two projects, and if we spent a few days merging the lists of articles, sharing ideas and collaborating on improving the same articles which both projects are focused on improving...we could really make some headway. Whether you're in favour, or against, the idea of a merger - I'd appreciate some feedback regardless. Much thanks. Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 21:26, 27 August 2007 (UTC) Reply

FACs edit

Hi Fsotrain09. I just wanted to let you know that it is usually not good practice to strike through others' comments on an FAC. You are supposed to let the reviewer decide whether the comment has actually been addressed and let them strike through it if so. Instead, either write DONE next to the comment (with your comments after), or add a new line under the comment. I verified that you did fix those (thanks :) ), so I'm fine with the currently stricken ones remaining stricken. Some of the other reviewers get a little heated, though, when their comments are stricken, and following these guidelines will keep you from inadvertently upsetting someone. Thanks! Eva Peron article edit

I'd like to see it be a featured article, but I'm pretty sure it will be voted down at this point. I think it needs a lot of work, and I'm not sure how to do it all. But it's a good idea, I suppose, to nominate it right now because it can give us an idea of what we need to do. Thanks. -- Andrew Parodi 05:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
