May 2018 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Flipkart, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Words should only be linked the first time they appear in an article (if at all). bonadea contributions talk 13:15, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Flipkart. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 13:20, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Bayeux, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Do not remove pic and material from info box without giving a valid reason. Your actions could be considered vandalism. Thank you. David J Johnson (talk) 13:31, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Guest appearances edit

Please stop adding guest appearances to idols filmographies, guesting is not notable and not included in articles per consensus. Alexanderlee (talk) 13:32, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

June 2018 edit

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Sarah Koenig. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 13:39, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello FromFrank, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Sharp Objects (miniseries) have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Lbtocthtalk 22:42, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

Thank you for posting at the Teahouse. I'm one of the many 'friendly' hosts there. We'll be happy to help you should you ever need assistance with editing.

Whilst I'm here: Do remember you can use your sandbox for testing content - it's not a good idea to place lots of article content on this talk page. All the best, Nick Moyes (talk) 07:53, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Oh sorry, thanks for informing i have already deleted them and i will probably ask more questions in The Teahouse in the future, cheers. --FromFrankTalk♬

Copyright problem on Just Ella edit

Plot descriptions cannot be copied from other sources, including official sources and IMDb, unless these can be verified to be public domain or licensed compatibly with Wikipedia. They must be written in original language to comply with Wikipedia's copyright policy. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:48, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I also removed copyright material you had added to The Missing (novel series). Both these issues were detected by our semi-automated plagiarism detection system. Don't add copyright material to Wikipedia, or you risk being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:53, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Silog (dish) edit

Hello, FromFrank,

Thanks for creating Silog (dish)! I edit here too, under the username Girth Summit and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Many of the assertions here are unsourced - the only source seems to be about tapsilog, and does not discuss all the other silogs described in the article. It would be good to find some sources discussing silogs in general, to demonstrate their notability and support the assertions in the article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Girth Summit}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

@Girth Summit:

  • Hello, i think i fixed the problems that you have pointed out, i hope now that i can delete all those notices you put up. --FromFrankTalk♬ 14:28, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that's looking a lot better, thanks. Some of the sources appear to be blogs, so not truly reliable, but I appreciate that it's not easy to get cast-iron sources for a subject like this and I don't want to be a jerk about it - I'm happy with the removal of the tags. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 17:27, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Tapa (Filipino cuisine) into Silog (dish). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:00, 27 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Marlon Sandro, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bellator.
