SVG edit

Inkscape is a good, free tool for editing SVG files. I would do it myself, but my written Spanish is a little rusty. Here's what I come up with, feel free to correct me:

Historia de la construccion de los templos de la iglesia SUD 1835-2008

  • 1877 - Primer templo aún en uso
  • 1919 - Primer templo fuera de Utah
  • 1955 - Primer templo en Europa
  • 1984 - Se introdujen templos de diseño normalizado
  • 1999 - Se introdujen templos mas pequeños
  • 2000 - Récord de 34 templos son dedicados

I'm sure there are better ways to translate the phrases but I wanted to know what you think :) Shereth 17:41, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed you've made edits to Brigham Young University articles and thought you might want to become a member of the BYU WikiProject. We've recently revamped the project page and started a drive to improve BYU-related articles. We have a lot of articles under our project and would like assistance getting them to featured article status. Hope you'll join us. Go BYU!

Also, I notice you are quite active on the Spanish wikipedia. I started to translate the main BYU article to Spanish, so if you would like to help over there, it would be welcomed! --Eustress (talk) 01:36, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mycosis fungoides edit

Thank you so much for your photos. They are a great addition to wikipedia! In all honestly, several more close-up photos of the skin lesions, possibly with a ruler in the photo, would be great. Also, if you can get photos of the pathology slides, and images of the CT scan, that would be amazing too. The more images, the better! Perhaps you can try for a featured picture of mycosis fungoides. Also, if you are interested, help is needed developing the WP:DERM:PIC page. We really need a leader in this area. Disambiguation page for otocyst edit

Hi, I noticed that you created a disambiguation page for the word otocyst back in April of this year. As it stands, the page has two entries on it— however, each of those entries has three wikilinks in it, and one of those is also piped, both practices something which is to be avoided in such pages (see WP:DABSTYLE). Ideally, each entry should include only one wikilink, and each of those should not be piped. Also, I am not convinced that the different "otocysts" that make up the page are actually different topics. I am contacting you to ask if you would consider revising the page to either make it consistent with WP:DABSTYLE or, alternatively, to turn it into a redirect to an appropriate article. Hi there. I was going to add this to the Klamath Falls talk page, but thought I'd contact you first. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Proposed deletion of Monteverde Theme Park edit

The article Monteverde Theme Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a travel guide. This park does not appear to meet WP:GNG, and the fact that it appears in travel guides does not necessarily make it notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ubiquity (talk) 20:28, 27 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Serpentario Viborana edit

Hello, Fimbriata. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Serpentario Viborana, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 15:43, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ice Lake edit

Thank you for your message and I apologise for what I said, I was rather startled and maybe didn't choose my words well. However, I hope you can understand my shock at these events when I know you've been editing Wikipedia for a decade - much longer than me. I don't know much about the geography of Oregon, and I know nobody can avoid mistakes, but I can read a map, and the second I saw an article of yours that said a place was in a county that's about four hundred miles from where Google Maps puts it I started to be concerned. If you are adding information "of eagerness mixed with little time", perhaps you could be careful to only add information you well know to be correct, or post on the Oregon WikiProject talk page that you think these topics deserve more work and that you would appreciate it if someone with a bit more free time could take a look.

As far as I can tell, your last edit after I'd warned you about these problems twice contains at least two mistakes:

  • You say the Wallowa River flows into Ice Lake, but according to Google Maps and Portland State University (see the map on page 2, which places Ice Lake at bottom centre-left) that river forms downstream and north of the lake, just south of Wallowa Lake from the confluence of its west and east forks. According to that map, no streams of any significance flow into the lake (Google Maps does show one without a name at the south of the lake), but Adam Creek flows out.
  • You say it has a catchment of 820 square miles, but that sounds like a lot for such a very small lake, and according to the Portland State University fact file Wallowa Lake, downstream of Ice Lake, has a catchment of 50.8 square miles.

Perhaps you can explain to me what the facts are and tell me the sources of information that you find most reliable on these topics. Blythwood (talk) 09:48, 29 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Copy/pasting across multiple articles edit

Please do not copy and paste sections between articles without checking for accuracy. I've noticed several of your Washington lakes have the same sentence ("Julius Lake is located approximately one mile west of highway 2 and access is obtained by Upper Roaring Creek Trail #1584."), which would be inaccurate and against the Copying within Wikipedia policy. SounderBruce 05:41, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I should slow down as I write. All these articles get retouched with the right references, as you can see: they are full of references to support the statements. However, the excitement of a new lake article gets me at times and I postpone those cleanup duties. Again, thank you! Fimbriata (talk) 14:48, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Again, I see you've copied data and citations from Glacier Lake to Cooper Lake (Washington) without checking for accuracy. Please address these issues before continuing to create new articles. SounderBruce 06:18, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Checked Links corrected for relevant location(s). Climate retouched to meet the closest recorded population from Cooper Lake (Washington) using a webpage linked by Ronald, Washington, 500+ ft lower than Cooper Lake. The differences are so small between the reported by the ceb.wiki for Cooper Lake, I am going to go on a very short limb and trust their source. I agree: it ends in a NASA dashboard. The data, however, is so close, I remain trusting the ceb bot as   Technically indistinguishable Until there are new numbers ... Fimbriata (talk) 21:39, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
If the climate data does not specifically pertain to that lake, it should not be included. It is not verifiable and would be misleading. SounderBruce 23:27, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
No technical evidence Premature! It proves a power point and I am not going to wrestle you in your trip. You don't know the code the Cebuano bot uses, the variations between lakes are enough to agree on some potential extraction algorithm from the Nasa website they cite. In other words, you can't disprove their verifiability. Ceb wiki has great administrators and none have edited the bot, the articles, etc. A trust I have in their verifiability transfers well, it should always. Shared trust until (unshown thus far) data appears that contradicts these numbers. Thus far only a hunch "I highly doubt ..." is not a primary/verifiable source - far less reliable than a verified bot in a sister wiki. Have a great rest of your week. Fimbriata (talk) 23:41, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Once again, please cleanup after yourself before creating new articles. Marten Lake uses the same source as Anderson Lake, it has no talk page banners (which are left as a courtesy to create less work), and is riddled with grammatical errors. Also, don't shorten the Department of Fish and Wildlife link in citations. SounderBruce 21:35, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Water Act, 1974 edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Water Act, 1974 has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://cpcb.nic.in/water-pollution/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion ReviewDiannaa (talk) 14:31, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
