"Statesman" edit

Hi. I notice you've been adding the description "statesman" to certain WP:BLPs. I'd advise against this - it invites argument and breaches the neutral point of view policy and WP:PEACOCK guideline. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 21:43, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apologies! Thankfully it didn't do much harm (don't ask me what I was doing when I inserted it in Charlie Haughey's article) but yeah I shouldn't have done that, was a personal opinion and while I do feel many agree with me, I understand it violates the NPV policy. Sorry again! Eolais | Talk | Contribs 21:45, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Signature policy and guideline violation edit

Hi Eolais. I really like your beautiful signature, but yours have violated several policies and guidelines of WP:Signature. Your current signature Eolais | Talk | Contribs white white white, which seems to be substituted by User:Eolais/signature has potential surrounding text disruption, an image, 443 characters, and transclusion of templates, violating the policies WP:SIGAPP and WP:SIGIMAGE, and guidelines WP:SIGLEN and WP:SIG#NoTemplates respectfully. I only pointed it out because your signature really stands out, but it might be too much for other Wikipedians such as undue prominence or reading disruption under source editor. —Wei4Green#TeamTrees🌲 04:50, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Wei4Green: That's fine! I've just went bland for the moment until I get the energy to create a new one. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Eolais (talk) 12:00, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for acknowledging this. Also, I found out your signature isn't compliant with the WCAG 2.0 AA level (minimum contrast of 4.5:1) where it's the minimum requirement according to WP:COLOR and WP:SIGAPP. I tried to shorten your signature as short as possible and make it compliant with the WCAG 2.0 AA level (#00000 (black) and #0645AD(link color):#ACE5A9=14.5:1 and 5.9:1. It's 220 characters long, under the 255-character limit. You could modify it if you like. @Wei4Green: Apologies for the slow reply, I was meant to get back to this on Halloween but got distracted elsewhere with edits and stuff! Cheers thanks a million, I actually really like it so I'm going to use it. Thanks a million for your kindness! Eolais (talk) 13:00, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

June 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Andrew nyr. I noticed that in this edit to Inister for Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Andrew nyr (talk, contribs) 23:13, 29 June 2020 (UTC) @Andrew nyr: Hi, that page title has a misspelling. I was moving a page to that page instead it was meant to be "Minister" instead of "Inister". Eolais|Talk|Contribs 23:15, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Inister for Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you think that the page should be deleted, please have a look at the following guide:

If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Andrew nyr (talk, contribs) 23:19, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Andrew nyr: Just leave it, the problem is resolved now, No, I wasn't trying to be unconstructive, simoply blanked the page because I couldn't delete it. It's clearly a mistake. Eolais|Talk|Contribs 23:51, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Celestina007 (talk) 23:50, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

It already is? It's a Department of State within the Government of Ireland. It is notable enough. Eolais|Talk|Contribs 00:38, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

July 2020 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for July 12 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bailieborough Community School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rugby (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:15, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Celestina007: It is not meant to be an article, it is more of a disambiguation page. Eolais|Talk|Contribs 18:28, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Eolais, it pretty much looked like an article. Celestina007 18:30, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Celestina007 simple mistake that can be made ha! Could you move it back into the main article space as I don't have the powers to move pages? Eolais|Talk|Contribs 18:31, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
